FAKIR SET FOR COMEBACK

French international second rower Djamel Fakir will make his comeback from a career-threatening knee injury for Catalans Dragons against Salford in Perpignan on Saturday evening.
The 24-year-old Fakir missed only one match in the Dragons' inaugural Super League season but his career was put on hold when he ruptured the tendon in his patella playing for France in the Federation Shield six months ago.
"He's chomping at the bit and we've been trying to hold him back," said coach Mick Potter.
"He had a bit of a setback last week when he had a bit of fluid drained off the knee but if it doesn't inflame he'll play some part of the game.
"I would have played him in the local competition but it's virtually finished.
"If he can get back to the way he was playing before the injury it will be a great boost for us but some people don't come back the same after these type of injuries."

INSIDER TO END FRENCH RESISTANCE

Salford are tapping into the inside knowledge of Frenchman David Berthezene in a bid to secure a vital win over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Test hooker is on a season-long loan from the Catalans, who raised no objections to him playing against them at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium.
Berthezene played in 18 out of 28 matches in the Dragons' inaugural Super League season but has been out of favour this year and his solitary appearance was in their 10-0 defeat at Salford in March.
He was ineligible to play for the Reds in last week's Challenge Cup tie against Huddersfield but has appeared in their last seven league matches and is keen to make his mark on his own club on Saturday.
"I'm sure he's got a point to prove," said Salford coach Karl Harrison. "He's been looking forward to going home.
"He's training pretty well and re-charged his batteries last week. I spoke to him about a few of their key players, the ones I don't know. For example, I had never heard of the Bentley brothers."
The Reds, three points adrift at the foot of the table, are desperate to complete the double over the Dragons but they are still without Aaron Moule, Ian Sibbit and Paul Highton as well as long-term injury victim Karl Fitzpatrick.
"We're taking every player who is available," said Harrison. "We're doing it tough at the moment. We just need to get some points.
"We've still got a strong squad and the players are working ever so hard. We just need a good performance and we are certainly not far away."
The Catalans, who are playing their first home game for a month, are only four points ahead of Salford after winning just one of their last five league matches and, although exempt from relegation, coach Mick Potter admits they are equally desperate for the win.
"It's always difficult when a team comes off the back of a couple of losses but we're pretty much the same," he said.
"We didn't perform well at Whitehaven (in the cup) and before that we got dusted by Harlequins and Leeds.
"We really need to win this one just as much as Salford and we'll be fully motivated."
The Dragons will welcome back international second rower Djamel Fakir for his first match of the season after overcoming a career-threatening knee injury.
Warrington look to continue their mid-season revival when Harlequins visit the Halliwell-Jones Stadium.
A four-match losing run, which came at the height of their injury crisis, threatened to wreck the Wolves' campaign but they have begun to gradually get their players back on the field.
They have racked up 98 points in their last two matches and coach Paul Cullen is confident they can now kick on and grab a top-four spot.
"We certainly have not got carried away with our wins over Salford and Barrow but they have been useful preparation going into a very tough month," he said.
"A large number of our players have used those games to get themselves back up to speed."
Prop Paul Wood could be the latest player to return from injury, leaving Chris Bridge and Michael Sullivan as the only regulars still sidelined.
Harlequins have lost the services of former Australia international Scott Hill, who strained a rib cartilage in training to join Henry Paul, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Richard Villasanti, Michael Worrincy and Zeb Luisi on the sidelines.
"Like most teams we have some players missing," said coach Brian McDermott. "We also have 17 fit and hungry players who are ready and able to get the job done.
"It's been a solid week in training and the guys are all looking forward to it."
