I'd nominate Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. One of the best put sidekicks and characters of any game I've played. Wears too many clothes for this thread though.

yeah, thread went bad pretty quick.

I was genuinely surprised that R* didnt incorporate a female, playable character in the story mode of GTA V. I think that would have been quite cool.

I was surprised there wasn't any DLC for Red Dead where you played as Bonnie MacFarlane. If ever a female character was going to hold her own as a playable character in the R* world it was her IMO

If we're talking 3rd person sandbox games, then Saints Row the 3rd has the added bonus to create your own character with so much depth. The only problem I find is they have only 2 different female voices. The needed more, but this obviously would've made the game so much bigger which would've been a problem.
