yes. yes i would. I dont care where he plays for, i will hate that team.
the worst bit isnt the media, its every f**king parra merkin on here going on and on how good he is. he had 2 good games this season, and you go on how hes better than slater.
hes f**king sh*t, and i hope he breaks his leg. and then all you bandwagon supporters might neck yourselves.
So much hate for one so young...
must suck that the team with the best player in the world cant even make the 9, or even beat the sharks.
c.f. the Cowboys
Lets see what happens with the Dragons this year, set to be the biggest bandwagon ever IMHO.
Our fans, unlike those of some other teams, have a habit of showing up even when we're going sh*t. Case in point is how many Saints fans showed up at Suncorp in round 26, 2003 when we were out of the finals race and fielding a virtual reserve grade team due to injury.
They don't burn as much as when we were robbed against Manly in the '97 GF qualifier or in 1998 our "reward" for defeating Melbourne and Newcastle on the road was a "home" final in Brisbane against Brisbane.
'97 burns more than anything else as we peaked at the right time of the season then got robbed in the GF qualifier and now I'm left with a hypothetical "we'd have beaten Newcastle"
From the outside looking in I always thought 2005 was the one that got away from both Parra and Saints as opposed to the GFs they lost. Saints should have won in 1999 though but the Knights played the game of their life in 2001 and showed how a quality 6 or 7 can carry a team over the line.
The 'home' final in Brisbane was a disgrace. The Roosters earned the week off, and the match should have been played at the SFS. My guess is the NewsRL wanted to justify Brisbane as the rightful 97 Premiers by maximising their advantage in 98. Why they thought they had to do this for a team as strong as the Broncos were that season I have no idea, but could anyone imagine the outcry from up north if the Broncos were ever forced to move a home final to Sydney?
As for '99, we were quite simply done over. Take out the try Melbourne scored off a blatant forward pass to Tony Martin, and they would have never got a sniff. Made me thoroughly enjoy them getting their come-uppance in 06.
I do find it somewhat hypocritical that a Bronco fan is having a little tanty about the wankfest that some sections of the media have with parra & hayne. Has he ever read the Courier mail, or seen any other brisbane media ? No different to the treatment Broncos and Lockyer (the turnstyle) receive.
You can ignore it.
Amen to that. I grew up on the Tweed, but for some weird reason, we had reception for Brisbane TV instead of northern NSW (which meant two extra channels back then), and I now live in Brisbane, so I've had to endure the beyond biased pro-Broncos media for 20-odd years. Not to mention the dulcet tones of Billy J. Smith. Seriously, every time a Broncos player takes a dump it makes the news up here.
@gUt: having said all this, your rant is pretty well written. Are you involved with Forum 7s at all? If not, you should give it a go.
