There's only one way to vote in this thread, and that's the...

They named a street after the vacant space between Lockyer's inside defender and his outside defender?

Thurston shats on Locky from a great height

A better comparison would be Lewis, Langer, Lockyer and I'd rate them in that order

QLDers often forget that defence is half the game.

If players are touch and go in attack, (even though I think thurston was/is better) and one player is a lot better then the other in defence, the better defender is clearly the better player.

Thurston hands down.

Great insight.

Maybe people have a different opinion to yours amd believe what they SEE, not what they are told.

I guess like people telling me Lockyer is the best of all time. But I don't believe it because despite being a bloody good player, he was defensively suspect and needed constant protection in games for it.

To be considered even close to the best, you have to have the all round arsenal. Lockyer does not come close when you consider defence.

Remember the tackle on devere in soo??

I know you do.

Do you think johns or jt could have made that tackle?

Great defence is not confined to front on tackling. It involves defusing bombs and cover defence as well.

You and many others fail to see this because you're to stupid.

The more I read about people fapping on about johns the more apparent it becomes just how over rated he was.

Some people will just believe anything they're told.

Interesting rationale.

We have many people stating their opinion that JT & Johns are very, very close. Yet Lockyer is behind both of them. You tell all of those, some who have been watching the game for 40+ years that they?re wrong because they?re told to say that. By who I'm not sure.

Yet you know better because?...................

Can we apply that very rationale to your opinions?

Generally one set of six you tackle, one set of six you attack.

Cue

50% or thereabouts, has anyone seen Jarrod Croker...............................

Halves tend to win the game in attack, not defence. But why bother having a discussion when you can be facetious?

I have no doubt there are other people who disagree with me about Lockyer. They are however in the vast minority.

Time for your afternoon pills, Chumpy. Don't get the colours mixed up or you could get even worse than "normal".

I'm off to watch a video of Todd Woodbridge serving an ace, which obviously proves he was the greatest server in the history of tennis.:lol:

And here I was thinking the defensive deficiencies of the likes of Sandow, Moses and Brooks was an issue.

Apparently not?

Remember that one tackle he did on Patten?

I know you do.

I hereby announce that Sandow did not have defensive deficiencies.
