Who said that?
You, just before.
I never said he can't defend though.
Who said that?
The Bronco hate is very strong in here.
Had no idea just how under rated locky is down south.
He sure pissed off plenty down there over his career.
Just for the record how well would johns go defending at fullback?

How would lockyer go defending at hooker
this!no where near as well as johns at fullback.
It is not people from nsw underrating lockyer, it is people from everywhere outside of brisbane agreeing that thurston is/was better then him.
Johns lacked consistency, and often went missing in games, he is also a confessed drug user admitting to using banned substances throughout his career. There is no such thing as the perfect player, all players including the greats have deficiencies. When people lean a certain way they tend to view these a lot more harshly and in an over exaggerated manner, which I'm probably guilty of as well with Johns.
Sorry, but completely disagree on Johns going missing.
I couldn't imagine how hard it was for Locky to play with a team full of rep players throughout his career.
except JT makes them all the time
especially on kick chases
They were not even defensively, your broncos bias is laughable...so so laughable.
Next you will be telling me alan langer was better then peter sterling, or gordon tallis was the best second rower ever? Or has he gone down hill now that he dared criticize the deity wayne bennett.
Oh wow, some fans are biased. Would it be so hard to contemplate fans being biased against a Broncos player - not exactly the League's most loved club...
Play the ball not the man, these debates are tricky enough without muddying the waters with rubbish ulterior motives.
lol at linnett and cooper being minders...
If cooper didn't play off thurston in attack so well (the line etc that he runs) he wouldn't be in the side. He is certainly not there for his defence.

TC also ran well off of Lockyer, it wasn't as if he was a David Stagg type of player who was picked solely to make tackles. Similar can be said of Gavin Cooper. Just because he can run good lines off of JT, doesn't mean he doesn't take care of him defensively. And that's especially true of Linnett, who doesn't offer much else than making metres inside his own half of the field ala Ash Graham.
You've been whinging about bias through out this thread. Yet, you're having a go at Lockyer for having TC besides him (like it's unique in Rugby League) when JT has Cooper and Linnett either side covering for him.
It isn't like he spent seven seasons playing a different defensive role either. He's had his entire career to get himself right on that left defensive edge and he still struggles.
