• the raiders beat balmain in that famous grand final
• the broncos and knights were enjoying their second season in the comp (and have proceeded to win 6 and 2 premierships respectively)
• the gold coast team were called the giants
• Michael keaton and jack nicholson wowed audiences in 'batman'
• a young man stops a tank in tiennamen square
• Ben barba was a foetus
• the beach boys hit no.1 with kokomo
