I think the consensus from most Parra fans i have spoken too is we don't want to lose him but anything more then 500-550k is really a detriment moving forward on the cap and affecting any chance we have getting success.

So were stuck where we basically have to let him go if the Dragons are willing offering 750-800k a season. You can't be competing with that at this stage of his career.

Wayne Bennett moved on the King in 1990 and he won 2 x comps with a younger roster a couple of years later.

I reckon even further. That 500k would be directly related to how well he transitions to a new role and I think every year beyond 2026 is a risk at that amount

A recent SMH article reported that Lomax said he thought Gutherson would form a good partnership with Hunt, implying he would play 6.

No direct quote from Lomax on Hunt there, and/or on what position Gutherson might play if he heads to the Dragons. I don't trust the journo's take without a direct quote.

Sure but the journo got the idea from somewhere. I don't trust them to think outside the box. They are likely to assume that Gutherson the fullback will be going wherever he goes to keep playing fullback.

I don't trust them to think outside the box. They are likely to assume that Gutherson the fullback will be going wherever he goes to keep playing fullback.

Give them some credit, they're paid professionals after all!
