Yes I have heard of Royce Geoffrey. He is a second rower who played with the Roosters Harold Matts in 2008,along with Tye Alchin. He is a good solid player and will be in the SG Ball squad, but whether he makes the 17 game day squad is a different story. There are some really good forwards coming through the club and the SG Ball is no exception.

I'd have to say that Tyler Sullivan and Chad Redman are the two key players in this team. Alai Taufaao from the Bulldogs is with you guys now so expect him to play at 7 instead of Shay Padberg, which would mean William Smith plays at fullback, or maybe Scott Griffiths. Jeremy Ma'a has plenty of potential, as does Jason Savin and hopefully they can step up next year. Ben Bradley reminds me of Jake Finn. A solid player who didn't get a run in SG Ball when 17, but will probably dominate next year and make a couple of rep teams along the way. Kori Barber is a very good player and I rate him pretty high. He hits solid and is very strong. I think he is every bit as good as Boyd Cordner from the Roosters but just has to show it more consistently. Dale Clacherty and Pat Mata'utia-Leifi are the picks of the backs for me. They are both unstoppable close to the line and are power players, they don't run around you, they take the fastest route to the line and that's straight over the top. Overall good solid team next year and should make the finals.

I've seen Bradley play once, he and Jarome Wilson we're starting props, he looked half the size of Wilson but showed twice as much heart

I can't understand why all the Mata'utia's are considered to be outside backs, or centres at best.
They are all thinking players with great skills, so have much more to offer than wing play.

Earlier this year in the Harold Matts, Pat absolutely annihilated the opposition scoring something like 4 tries playing in the centres, which I think should be his position next year, but then the coach picked him on the wing. Now IMO that is not a good move because he was their best outside back and needed to touch the ball more. I think in the 2011 SG Ball side, Pat should think about moving into the backrow as he has the size, skill and strength to be very successful there.

mata'utia are natural centres, they are strong runners good defenders, but if they handle ht eball too often or have to do too much defense they can sometimes become stale and seem to back off a bit, something u dont want in the forwards

unbelievable in the centres but

This post makes no sense

He is a great centre, scores tonnes of tries and dominates teams from that position but you suggest he should be moved to the back row where there is less room and more defence?

My belief is that all the Mata'utia boys could have played in the halves if some coach had pushed them in that direction.
Even now in NYC, Pete often shows that he is the best reader of the game in the side, and he often does playmaking stuff from centre - even putting in tactical kicks and directing 5th tackle options.
The boys could be playmakers easily, but it's hard to do that from the wing.

I think that at this very moment, Pat should be played in the centres because he is a great player there. But in say two years when he is playing SG Ball at his right age, maybe a move into the backrow will be even better for him, just because I can see him causing real havoc on the fringes of the ruck with his offloading skills and his strength. Chad Redman was a gun in the backs but moved into lock and IMO he has gone even better moving closer to the ruck for the same reasons I think Pat should play in the backrow. I think it's worth a try because once Pat fills out, he will be a big boy.

Its also the spot we need filled the most in first grade. Id like to see pete in 5/8, dunno how he would go but it cant get than what we have now can it? could get alot better though.

Pete is the closest thing I've seen to Matt Gidley, just his hands, and ball skill. Chanel i think should be a winger and Pat if he keeps growing and fills out could be a mini Israel Folau.
I hope the youngest boy Sione has inherited his brothers' talents

Mata'utia gives it off to Mata'utia and busts a tackle and throws a lovely inside ball to Mata'utia, Mata'utia approaches the full back and puts a fantastic grubber in for Mata'utia to score in the corner.

Mata'utia lines up the conversion and knocks it straight over the black dot.
