6-10m for a player who has played a handful of games in two years is an offer we can't refuse imo.

At the moment we have :

RVP
Chamakh
Bendtner
Arshavin
Walcott
Vela

All able to play as a striker in essentially a 4-1-4-1 formation. Six players for one position seems sufficient enough depth imo. Unless ala 2009/2010 half of them break in half.

i wouldn't look at playing Arshavin, Walcott or Vela as a lone striker. RVP seems to get injured a lot, Chamakh is unproven in the league.

I wouldn't sell Eduardo to quick unless you get a good offer and you have a replacement lined up.

Tbh neither would I.

Andrey was forced into the lone strikers role last season and it was far from successful. Maybe Arsene has another signing in the works? Who knows.

Confirmed, Eduardo gone for 6m :

Best of luck to him, he was an absolute assassin in front of goal before his injury. I hope he reclaims his form at Shakhtar.

Simpson was snubbed for the Austrian tour. Bye bye Jay.

In other interesting news, Almunia was once again snubbed from playing in a trial. Didn't even sit on the bench for the Graz game and Vermalen started as captain :

In fairness, City did pay considerable overs for Yaya.

Cesc stays at Arsenal for the upcoming season imo. Barca's finances aren't looking too great atm.

56m Euro loss last season or something similar?

Absolutely staggering..

Still nothing on the Schwarzer or signing front in general.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a big money bid for 17 year old Anderlecht starlet Romelu Lukaku. The Emirates manager is prepared to offer as much as £12m for the teenager who is rapidly making a name for himself after a stunning start to his professional career.
The powerfully built forward netted 19 goals in his first full season in the first team and even managed to force his way into the senior national team reckoning and has been targeted by a number of Europe’s elite and it appears that Wenger is hopeful of snapping up the Antwerp born star as soon as possible.
The youngster excelled in the Belgian league last term finishing the season as top scorer and aiding Anderlecht to the title. Perhaps most impressively he was also a big threat in the Europa League where he managed to net four crucial goals.
He has been favourably compared to Didier Drogba and has a similar strong running style and a determined nature and a strong physical presence that could lend itself nicely to a move to the Premier League. Having offloaded Eduardo the Gunners could well be interested in beefing up their front line options and given the massive potential shown by Lukaku it would seem a wise idea to try to capture him before he makes a big move elsewhere.

Djourou came off injured. Our only 2 CB's are TV and Luarent. If we have any chance at Mertesacker we need to splurge now!!

WB would be asking a ridiculous amount for Ozil. Arsene should have pounced pre-WC when the rumours started going around.

Werder Bremen have no bagaining power it's either take money now or lose him for free next year, any team could easily pick him up for 10-15m.

10m for Mertesacker is not too bad he is a bit cumbersome though.

True.

Bring in Ozil, get rid of Denilson or Diaby.

Mertesacker has the height we need, but the turning speed of Senderos.

Ozil and Jagielka and Ill be happy.

Id prefer to keep Diaby though. When hes injury free hes been very good for Arsenal.

But inconsistent.

I love Diaby to bits, but his best role is as an AM and unfortunately for him we have at least 3 better players who can play in that position. Thus he is forced to play as a more central midfielder or a defensive midfielder. Positions which yet again, aren't his strongest.

Denilson on the other hand is rubbish, ship him out.

I'd take Mertesacker over Jagielka tbh. Cheaper, younger and better imo.

Per is no where near as good Jagielka imo. Either way Arsenal still definitely need a CB or 2.

Emirates Cup this weekend. Will be good to see Arsenal go around in a few semi serious games against good competition. Hopefully we see some Wilshere magic again and he cements his spot in the first team.

Just watched the Celtic game.

Wilshere was awesome, should see plenty of playing time this season. Frimpong was also very impressive for a young kid. Walcott caused havoc all day. Very excited for the up coming season.

Do you have ATVO mate?

Skysports have linked us with Spahic from Montpellier :

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6293488,00.html

Tbh I've never heard of him, what I have managed to find is :

* Bosnian, 29 years old.
* Moved from Lokomotiv Moscow to Montpellier in 2009.
* 6'0
* Capped 35 times for Bosnia.

Whilst his contract was only recently extended until July 2014, I can't imagine his asking price would be above 5m.

Height, age and international experience. Could be a useful squad member.

Sadly it's been groundhog day for at least the past 2 years.

"Wilshere played well, will feature this season"

" Walcott carved up"

" Young Player X impressed".

Whilst I'm not dismissing the optimism, I'm trying to not get too excited. Although I will agree, this year is more promising than previous years.

When you consider the improved squad harmony after the final departure or 'weeding out' of the sooks (Gallas, Adebayor, Toure), the promising 3/4 of last season and resilience in light of media criticism and speculation, one would assume morale is quite high. Especially if media reports are anything to go by.

I haven't seen any odds for the Scouse game, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us with shorter odds than expected.
