Not what i meant, i re iterated some more on that post... but seriously theyve thrown out so many babys and bathwaters, its getting to the point of ...who cares wins
Have Penrith never sacked coaches, when the team has failed? We have had 11 seasons, I think management are entitled to react accordingly?

I think coaching today is more man management, but agree that tactics play an enormous bit as well.
I’ll be corrected, but I don’t think Billy Slater coached previously? Benji has been around FG for nearly 20 years, with some great coaches, but agree it can all go wrong, but it what it is and he has a 4 year contract, no one can say what will happen, year by year.
TBH, us not getting the spoon is an improvement? Getting better players, makes that more realistic.
Slater had numerous trophies behind him. Plus the ability to learn off one of the best in the business. Add in Cronk and Smith as assistants.

Very very different.

Tigerm Not enough has changed in Tigerland, for there to be improvement, The front office needs fixing first.

Different with Slater,

He doesn't need to organise a pre-season, short turn arounds. Deal with players who aren't up to standard.

They are the main reasons Wayne Bennett for example advises young coaches to run their own team
Well none of know how Benji will either, but we will find out.

Sorry, I wasn’t aware you were intimate with “Tiger land”, what I can say, except for poor FG team, the club is travelling very well, in everything, the results will change, just don’t know when.
Anyway, if Luai comes, he comes.

From the leaky drips round, it's quite easy for even folks like me to spot some of the major issues.

I reckon people are downplaying how good Luai is because 1. he looks like he's leaving 2. Cleary won us the GF.

Luai would be a great fit for the Tigers with Api, Papalli, Bula and co. Tigers get down the field they just don't have the polish.

Luai is all polish, was watching one of his highlight reels in 2020, fmd he was a freak, simce then he has been relatively quiet in comparison

Going to W/T as a 6, alongside an oganising 1/2. No problems.

Luai completely changing his game to be main play maker. Not sure.

3. Because the media says he is a flog.

Throw enough mud and some will stick, even subconsciously.

His long kicking game is pretty average. Apart from that he has shown all the skills at various times, it's just not his role with us, so no need to do it week in & week out.

He also knows how to play the long game. He sat patiently in cup with a few runs off the bench for ages before getting his shot, he could have easily got a gig elsewhere, but was smart enough to learn ore and wait. The bloke is no mug.

I really dont get the hate. Not that I'd want to hang out with him, the gansta bit and the boom box would trigger me & I'd bury him in a corner in the backyard. Could say that about most players these days though. Reality is he is a cleanskin off the field, family man that works his guts out. He is a brown man with an ego and a bit of a smartarse so the idiots cant handle that. More power to him I reckon.

I don't 'hate' the bloke. In fact I quite adore him. Will continue to do so, whether he re-signs with Penrith or not.

I do think though if he goes to W/T as a 6 (sudo 7). Expected to organise and manage the team. He'll end up like Burton. Attempting to be something he's not.

Being an organising 7 doesn't enhance his skill set. He's a wonderful off the cuff creative player in the same way Preston Campbell was.

For $1.1 or $1.2m or whatever the deal is.

You want the correct option taken 80% of time and some game management, You don't get that or it is yet to be proven he has it.

His bombs are perfect example they don't go high enough. So that limits the options to close out sets.

Hence why only the Tigers are interested

Put it this way if the shoe was on the other foot would you be happy with the signing at the numbers mentioned?

I don't mean anyone here hates him, more just the general public. I do think some of the negativity in the media does trickle through to opinions on here though. (not singling you or anyone else out)
