I love the blame game, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside..

Funny I thought it was a poor performance by the pigs up front that cost us the match. In the second half they struggled to get over the advantage line. Hard to score points that way.

What would I know, apparently it was Burt's fault.

Yep our forwards got dominated in a game of wet weather football. So it has to be the back fault  Mind you our dummy half running from the backs is the worst in the league.

In another thread everything was Morgans fault, some things just never change

when we went forward Mitchell was playing hooker, 15 mins to go he gets replaced by MK.

We show nothing from that point from the dummy half position, am I missing something, thought that was an extremely dumb decision. I think MK plays his guts oput, but creative he ain't, that replacement stopped us dead.

Pretty consistent with what we've seen from SK and the use of his bench this year.....hope he is learning from it!

Are we the only people that see this. And yet we wanna get rid of the best young hooker we have produced in ages. Fact is when Mitchell is playing that's when we look decent.

It's funny how some of us show leniency to certain coaches and players while certain others are trashed mercilessly. Just saying...

WOE

well here's a challenge for you WOE, tell me who here bagged out DA?? or is just saying that you're happy with the boards decision still regarded as bagging him out...

don't play that stupid game WOE, cause I think you'll find that SK is considerably more unpopular than DA, just ask spartan and Bartman..

Me personally I could care less if DA is gone, I liked him as coach but the board didn't want him from day one and they made the decision, their call.....

My only concern is the decision they made, no reflection on SK, only the board. A rookie coach with a questionable record.

I have seen a decline this year in attitude, it was supposed to be the other way around. I wish it wasn't us who had to be his learning ground is all!

just saw the try again - funnily enough I always through the point of rushing in was to either a) tackle the centre b) turn him inside and stop hte pass to the winger .... (b) happened - wes then ran past everyone else defending inside

I agree korny and that's why I said during the summer months that we were always going to shoval shit uphil with this mob, particularly once guru and T left the club.

I've seen some ordinary squads at our club in the last 35 years but this is up there with 95 and 94 and maybe even 2004.

I think this squad is better than 2004, not in the halves but everywhere else. Fui, Hayne, Hindmarsh, Burt, Smith, McGuire, Walker, Shackleton, Mannah, Keating, Webb are all experienced enough and others like Lasalo, Horo, Loko, Morgan, Allgood & Mitchell are decent or potentially good players who are still green.

Robson and Mortimer are ordinary and probably brings the squad down a lot, so attacking will be a problem but the defence we have seen so far this year is below average......it should be better and that is why I am critical of the coach and staff around him. 8 months and our defence is worse than it was last year!

When your attack is shit, you end up with fewer tries, fewer repeat sets, less possession. You have to make far more tackles. Obviously your defence is then going to look worse. I think with better halves next year, our defence will be fine.

You must be the person in history to say having Chris Sandow in your side improves your defence.

I reckon we do the basics better but we are much further away from the top sides at their best because of the class we lack.

Whereas previously we always had class but were soft and inconsistent.

So i reckon he has brought improvements.

But fmd we need a few signings on top of the halves we've brought.

Still v worried about hooker backrow and wings

Absolutely agree. Im glad someone else saw it that way. Mitchel played only 15 minutes and the team looked dangerous for 15 minutes.
I think the kid is trying his guts out.
Cant work this one out at all.

Would you be happier if Mitchell was re-signed?
I for one certainly would be. His defence is solid enough, but he provides so much more spark out of dummy half than Keating. We're stuck with Keating, so I'm not sure where that leaves us with Mitchell. As for those advocating for Mortimer to the No. 9 -

As for wing, I'm not sold on bringing Tony Williams back, even though he's playing in the forwards now. I'd have David though if he came cheaply enough. He only knows two ways to run - straight and hard, and generally at the same time. His dummy half work is pretty strong for a moderately built winger.

That leaves just one back row position. Not sure who's available that's worth it.

Luke was terrible against the knights.

I think SK favours defensive players who are good trainers.

I just think that he doesn't have the confidence in Mitchell in defense and threw MK back on.

MK, I thought was his usual self again. Bad and slow service.

I was surprised Mitchell wasn't used until so late in the game, and then only for 15 minutes... he mustn't be impresing SK, in training or on field.

I thought there was merit in making a dummy half swap around 25-30mins into the game, and then again about 15mins into the second half (with the option of throwing an attacking dummy half back out there in the final 10 mins as well, if your are behind and gunning for a win). SK's use of the interchange for dummy halves (among other things) has had me stumped all season.

Keating gets through some defence, but he could temporarily shift into lock to do that and Mitchell can get some more game time when a back rower needs a breather. If spontenaity during a game like that can be accommodated in SK's "structure"...
