And we haven't for O'dwyer? remember Mateo was playing in Flegg when O'Dwyer made his first grade debut in 2004 was he not?

He looked great when he played fro London, the super league isn't as bad as what it use too.

btw

Didn't Cordoba start on the premies bench last year too? by your rationale anyone that starts on the bench in Premier League must not be any good right?

My rationale suggests that they aren't good enough? I've been keen to see some of the kids that are actually performing in the lower grades be given a chance rather than someone who doesn't. I thionk the guy is a great talent but to be left on the bench there must be something more to it. He looked fantastic in a few games in London, however it wasn't until injury forced their hand that he got a shot.

Your rationale is based on half a dozen games. On current form O'Dwyer offers more than Robinson and Wagon that much is certain.

I thought the reason Mateo wasn't on the bench was because he is still recovering from a knee injury and is probably 2 to 3 weeks from being ready to go.

I agree that Wagon & Robinson are skating on thin ice but in the times O'dwyer has been in firsts he's done an Ronni Irani and hasn't stood up to be counted, i believe their are better candiates like Cannings, Perenara & Peek, Peek was great for us last year and imo very underated and don't have any problems with him being in the side.

Wasn't Mateo recently injured? hence the reason maybe?
I don't care if the guy has attitude, if he can play good football for us i'll turn a blind eye even if i see him craping of the top of centre point tower;-)

why develop and give the experience to a player heading to another club ?

only exception is if he is CLEARLY one of our best 17 and we need him

otherwise, develop and give the experience to a player that will be around at Parra next year.

I don't think Brian cares that much about exactly which players he develops and where they will be playing next year ;-)

ie. his decisions would no longer take Parra's future into consideration.

Peeky is however a frontrower as opposed to a backrower. I'm not opposed to him being on the bench but ahead of Moi Moi, Cordoba etc? I can't see it personally.

Henry has had his moments as well. He has had some good games and then he has had some horrid games as well.

Cannings is the biggest underacheiver in the squad IMO and another front rower. He has some good games and then he has games where you wonder if he is out there......

Difference is O'Dwyer - on current form - would give us more from the back row than what Wagon and Robinson are offering up at the moment.

Cannings played lock for us against the Warriors last season, though. But he is a front rower.

Being named at lock and playing there are two different things.... ;-) particularly in Smithy's sides.

throw this kid the no.13 shirt now!!

absolutely amazing in PL, this is a guy who will comeback and bite us on the behind in years to come, he was every where yesterday and was very solid in defence, he will come to age this year and the GC will benefit from all this..

let's get what we can out of him, he deserves a shot.

This is the one time I agree with you. He is a great defender and a hole runner that can damage the opposition defence. He may not be big but he runs good angles.
