Our line speed was non-existant, Manly was making metres in defense on early tackles in the first half, rushing up and making good contact, our defensive line was sitting back and they were making easy metres.

Agreed. I would be happy to see a new halves combo named today. Sadly we need more then just that. I wish I could see a new half answering our problems. We need a new pack & a new centre & winger then maybe see how the halves go.

When I first saw Harry Siejka I thought he was going to be our next Greg Alexander. I now know that is not going to be the case as he probably doesn't possess the explosive acceleration that Brandy possessed. I still think Harry is a very talented half who has the ability to play in the NRL, with a great passing game, kicking game and not afraid to run the ball at the line. If things don't improve then Ivan Clearly could do worse than give the Siejka and Austin combination a decent run.

I wish you a long, long off field recovery.

Yeah. I am not too sad either. Seriously though Siejka/Austin combo wasn't much better. The forwards are the problem. I just hope they don't lose confidence getting belted by them being soft.

Is there anyone left defending him? Does anyone think we can go anywhere with him at the helm?

I want him gone, with everything I have.

Didn't we sign him for another 3 years? Maybe Gus intends to make him the Ground Announcer to replace Scotty.

Im glad to say i never fell for the hype that he was turning his career around. 4 or 5 games each season he shows potential only to revert straight back to the deadset awful halfback that is a liability more often then not.

Harry Siejka deserves first crack to partner Coote next season. Failing that Coote to #7 and Austin to 5/8.

Yeh I agree totally. Siejka deserved a decent chance to prove himself. And if that doesn't work, we always have Austin.

Hate to jump on the band wagon when he's been comprehensively criticised for almost every aspect of his game but how many times is it OK to make just 10m from a kick for touch when he has a good angle to work with. He did it cosistently today.
I can understand you don't want to risk not finding touch but most teenage players make more ground before the tap. McKendry or Weston could make more ground (no disrespect)

The games he has played well. He goes to the line and passes or kicks. He runs it our attack is useless. He needs to do that & let Coote do the running. Coote was terrible as well. 4 or 5 times he had and had no idea. Kingston is useless as well.

I doubt we do much ball work at training. No 1/2 we have played has done a good job. Nevertheless come round 1 2013. Walsh will be 7. Kingston will be 9. I have no doubt

6. Taumata
7. Coote

For mine. We may be a rabble as Coote learns to organise, but Walsh is no long term prospect.

I thought Coote was good today.

Many times he looked like he had no idea was because the forward had overrun the ball.

Instead of risking the forward pass, which Walsh had 2-3 of today in that same circumstance, Coote held the ball and gave us another opportunity at a play instead of turning the ball over.

Noone will say it but Flash was awful today, directly led to two of their tries. First bad game I've seen him play in a long time.

Big Mick. We scored off 2 backrower offloads & a terrible miss by Maloney none of the spine went well. The Bulldogs halves coach (Kimmorley) in commentary was crtical of both teams in attack. Given they had average halves and are 1st. It's hard to argue with what he said.

Early on we were down 6-0. We got a repeat set Coote gets through the line puts a kick in on the 3rd. Late in the game 5th tackle. We have a 3-2 overlap he goes short to Docker. Changeover.

Even his try. 3 on 2 again. Maloney makes that tackle he bombs a try. Hardly a great game. It was decent he is learning but still not the best game.

Walsh is scared to get tackled. He gets in those situations 99/100 he will pass or kick. Coote, Burns, Austin & Siejka in the halves were being over ran & took the tackle. Walsh will try & get the ball away still.

So we need to workout why EVERY half that's played this year has struggled. I don't want him in the team either but he has missed 5 games and we have scored 10 tries in those games. So what's the answer?
