Move Coote to 6.

Yeah I agree that this is his future, he seems to have pretty good ball skills, great footwork, and his long kicking game really impresses me more and more every time I see it, seems like they come out of a cannon when he kicks, much better long kicking game than Walsh.

Move Coote to 6. I don't know much about Taumauta, can he play back row?

The only problem is we would get carved up with Walsh/Coote halves pairing in defence. Taumata prob could but we need his speed in the midfield. These days a ball playing fullback is a must Gordon phyisically is better off apart from a mad chip chase and a flick pass I haven't seen him do much ball playing

Coote has potential to up his defence though I would say. I've seen him make some decent one on one tackles when it was needed. A little bit of work and he could be solid.

2011 = wooden spoon unless Elliott changes the way he thinks.

Are you talking about his views on footy or religion.

He is not a member of the 'happy clapper club ' as you so fondly refer but he has found peace and tranquality thru some form of religion (excuse my ignorance).

I don't think we will get the spoon and while we are all disappointed (again) with our total lack of forward planning and recruitment I don't blame ME for that. I am hearing he is as frustrasted as you and I and every other Panther supporter in term's of the way thing's have turned out.

Walsh hasn't improved for you guys.
He does nothing for your team apart from a few kicks.
There must be another option in the halves.

6. Coote
7. Gordon
13. Burns
14. Walsh as an impact player

Given Gordon will be out for some time, that won't happen.

If Penrith are re-building which Gould has stated, they should place the young halves in and let them get some time.

Walsh would be better for Penrith by running around for Windsor.
He simply offers nothing in attack and rarely if ever takes the line on.

Yeah true, but I think they still have some options for rotation in the top grade. How about

6. Coote
7. Kingston
9. Burns
13. Lewis
14. Walsh

What impact?

His territorial kicking game can be a handy asset for gaining field position, but play him in the centre position when he comes on so move Michael Jennings to prop at about 25 mins.

It astounds me that we resigned him. He must be a champ in training but he is a chump on the field. So far he has fooled Matt Elliot, but I guess we have to add Ivan Cleary and Gould as well. I heard all the usual spin that he had a great off season, looks great in the trails.....but come game time he is crap crap crap 4 games out of 5.

Ok...

1) Walsh has been re-signed...so no matter what he's here.
2) You cannot judge him on this game when his two wingers went down, his starting prop was off most of the game, his captain & his impact player both 60% and players moving everywhere out of position
3) It was pissing down rain

So all the people that are about to come here....and bitch and moan...it is one game. Walsh wasn't great...but sorry...no one was.

Judge him after 5 weeks, not one game. He was dominant in the trials on dry tracks. He has shown in pre-season he has what it takes otherwise Gus & Cleary wouldn't have re-signed him.

Give it time.

I have faith in Cleary.

He turned Maloney into a star when not even Bellamy could. Give it time.

Big Mick...there is no polishing that turd into gold. Maloney always had it in him...I remember him playing for Wentworthville and he was tearing teams to pieces almost singlehandedly. Mark my words.....and I have been consistent since Walsh first played for us - He is a chump.

We need to get SOMEONE else in there but we have already shipped off all other possible replacements like Graham, Blair, Sammut, even Iosefa.

I'd seriously try to get Coote in the halves. In a year or 2 I would love to see Seijka/Coote halves combo don't care who plays which. At the moment if Coote goes to 5/8 then temporarily play Burns at #7 and let Coote be the dominant half (much like Hornby/Soward).

Better yet have Gus BEG Wade Graham to come back to us and have 6. Coote 7. Graham.

This team will go nowhere with this bloke. Only thing I have seen him improve is his defense, but his attacking ability has not changed!

Pretty sure Coote is going to be needed at Fullback.

And I'm not going into again as to why Coote into five-eight is a bad idea defensively.

I'm all for Wade coming back.

I'd prefer a 6. Wade, 7. Seijka combo...but I doubt it happens

Yeah Seijka/Graham was the dream combo. They played a few games together in the 20's as well. But that prick Elliot had to get rid of Wadeo.

YEP! Never rated Kingston but he has just gotten slower and slower. Dumb move to get rid of Iosefa - all that he needed was abit more discipline in defense. Seluini is a NO NO. Slow service and horrible defense.

Unfortunately Burns isn't that much quicker then Kingston but beggers can't be choosers.

Walsh would improve with better service and a better half beside him but it has obviously been determined by our roster 2011/12 that he is to be our 'dominant' half and he is simply not capable. But if we insist on persisting with him - help him out with better ball handling partners!
