RAW Breakdown:

MATCH ONE: Tajiri & Chavo Guerrero vs. TNT (c) for the WWE Tag Titles
TnT with the straps is mehish, but im assuming with this inter promotional thing it will eventually lead to a unification match that Smackdown will win. Raws tag roster is poor. Smackdown has it all over them, doing the best with what ya got so meh.

MATCH TWO - Carlito (c) vs. The Big Show for the Intercontinental Title
I like CCC holding the IC title, i think a length run will have him in a good position to be pushed in the future, perhaps even as a face. I like this pairing too, going over show gives his reign abit of credibility to it, even if its un clean.

MATCH THREE: AJ Styles vs. Val Venis
Dont buy Val getting into a contest with styles, he's been jobbed out too long, i think having AJ go over quickly would of made for a better debut for the Phenomenal one. Looking forward to AJ getting into the IC hunt. Am loving the idea of Shelton and AJ being paired off.

MATCH FOUR: Kurt Angle vs. Jimmy Jacobs
Bah! Angle as a face IMO can be good but im abit stale on Angle at the moment, doing some very clichish face things, need to give him abit more edge imo.

MATCH FIVE: Triple H vs. Goldust
Goldust annoys me, sack him asap, HHH shouldnt be working with jobbers like him, even if he is only squashing him.

MATCH SIX: The Rock vs. Kane
Would have liked to see Rocky stay on smackdown but i do like where this is going, and keen to see where the Cena - Punk and masters thing is going, im hoping some wigga type stable, perferably without kane. Dont like kane in stables.

MATCH EIGHT: Edge & Muhammad Hassan vs. Chris Benoit & Batista
Got a big rap on Hassan, good to see he has come back almost straight into the main event scene, working with the big boys. I like where the inter promotion is going, alot of unpredictablity about it which is good and keeps things like this going in terms of excitement.

Smackdown Analysis:

MATCH ONE: Gregory Helms (c) vs. Psicosis for the Cruiserweight Title
Helms with the title is a good move, he is the complete package and will make the crusier scene abit more interesting. Psicosis is good too, i think they could work a pretty good scheduale together. Id like to see abit more cluster f**king around the Crusier strap thou, nothing is more entertaining then a good crusier cluster f**k!
MATCH TWO: Austin Aries vs. Simon Dean
Dont know much about Aries so it was disappointing seeing Dean job out to him, its not enough that the real WWE have to job this talented bloke stupid, but now you do it here on LU WWE? :( :p

MATCH THREE: MNM (c) vs. London & Kendrick for the WWE Tag Titles
MnM are good champions but im getting into the London Kendrick team, not sure they are quite ready for a title run due mainly to the awesomeness of MNM and the Mexicools but they are in the picture.

MATCH FOUR: Monty Brown vs. Road Warrior Animal
Poor match but im assuming it was really a set up for the Batista V Brown thing, which will be a mehish match the but the lead up of the Alpha Male V the Animal will be pretty awesome. Short but sweet match at a PPV. Keen as!

MATCH FIVE: The Nation of Domination vs. Chris Benoit & Rey Mysterio
Not keen on Rikishi, i think with him and Somoa Joe your one big man too many in the Nation, but im high on Somoa Joe so that makes up for it, perhaps the Nation at some point before eventually getting dismantled should get a tag run... who to fued them off against is the problem i guess. Without cluster f**king the tag division.

MATCH SIX - Ken Kennedy vs. Lashley for #1 US Contendership
Hmmm would of liked to see which way you'd have gone with this, but the impending invasion by RAW was good enough to make up for the no result. Have both on my personal roster so the result means not much to me.

MATCH SEVEN - Booker T vs. Matt Hardy (c) for the World Heavyweight Championship
Booker T is stale, shouldnt even get a title match, but i do like the Orton - Hardy interaction, two of the best workers and will produce a good fued... one i think Hardy should lose out in... Hardy is good but i think a long title reign is abit beyond his abilities :) Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out

Thanks for the detailed review, raider, makes writing it worthwhile to see people get interested in it beyond amassing points. Most of the points you raise are valid, and I'm working on fixing a few problems you mentioned. Venis, for one, has been sent to OVW so he can return later repackaged.

Ah, sorry guys. Just re-started studying (after a year's hiatus) and have yet to settle in to the groove yet. I've got the weekend off, so I'll give it a spin then.

It's all hit the fan as Raw and Smackdown's rivallry reaches fever pitch. Will it all come to a head on tonight's Raw? Raw General manager Eric Bischoff must surely be fuming after his humiliating defeat at the hands of The Undertaker on Smackdown, and what will the Phenom's response be to the assault by Raw superstars?

The night will also see The Rock retaliate against John Cena's allies, taking on Chris Masters in what should surely be an epic main event. We'll also see Kurt Angle taking on Triple H in singles action, Big Show gets a rematch against Carlito for the Intercontinental Title, and Smackdown tag champions MNM will make an appearance and work a match against the latest Raw tag team, Goldust and Chavo.

Theodore Long will also be in the house, and Bischoff's sure to have something in store for him. The growing tension between Shelton Benjamin and AJ Styles is sure to reach a new intensity as the two opponents face off against one another in tag action with Muhammad Hassan and Rob Van Dam involved.

All this and more on this week's action packed edition of Raw!

Raw kicks off with the traditional fanfare, and the fans immediately begin booing as 'Bad, Bad Man' hits and the WWE Champion, John Cena struts out to the ring flanked by Chris Masters.

He spins his spinner belt as he grabs a mike and pauses for the crowd to quit booing.
Cena: Yo, yo, yo - last week I took the rock to a brand new place
And homies, you shoulda seen the look on his face
The People's Champion? Where were the millions?
Rocky's chance of winning the title of Cena?
Yo, they're one in a billion.
He thinks he can beat me? Thinks he can bring me down
I saw Rocky's tights after last week's beating
The colour? Brown!
The Rock's scared of Cena
He can't see me
I'll beat him at Wrestlemania

The crowd jumps on Cena, booing him heartily as Chris Masters gets on the mike.
Masters: Last week I showed the WWE fans why I am one of the brighest stars in the business. In case you missed it, I made Rocky look like a chump! Just like everyone else, he fell to the Masterlock. But I'm feeling generous, so if you did miss it I'll give you an encore. Tonight it's going to be me up against The Rock, and I guarantee you, who won't come out of it!

Masters throws down the mike and the fans boo as the two heels struts back up the ramp.

MATCH ONE - CM Punk vs. Jimmy Jacobs
The two newer faces on Raw put on a good show here, with Jacobs getting the fans behind him early on with his 'HUSS!' cheers and his bizarre stomping. Punk, for his part, manages to look cocky even when being taken with a series of big boots, and is able to pick up the win following Welcome to Chicago (Motherf**ker).

COMMERCIAL

The fans pop as we return from commercial to find The Rock backstage with Ashley Massaro.
Ashley: Rock, did you just see...
Rock: Wait a second, were you about to ask The Rock if he just saw you getting intimate with Jerry the Janitor in the commercial break? Of course The Rock saw! But the Rock won't judge you, because the Rock knows that not everyone woman can aspire to the greatness that is the People's Strudel. Tell me, Ashley, do you like pie?
Ashley: Pie?
Rock: Poon-tang pie
Ashley: Oh, well, I'm not busy tonight so maybe we could...
Rock: Hold it right there. You see, The Rock is busy tonight. Apparetly The Rock is going to be facing some jabroni called Chris Masters. Some kid who wasn't even off his momma's tit when I was main-eventing Wrestlemania!
Ashley: Actually, Rock, he's twenty-t...
Rock: I know that! I also know that Masters is a momma's boy! Masters, you can try and lock me in your full nelson tonight, but the only 'lock' tonight is that The Rock will beat your punk ass and go on to beat Vanilla Ice at Wrestlemania! IF YA SMELL..... What the Rock is cooking.

As we cut to commercial we see MNM and Melina stepping out of a limousine, flanked by their usual posse of paparazzi. Looks like they're ready for their match against Goldust and Chavo Guerrero!

COMMERCIAL

MATCH TWO - MNM (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero & Goldust for the WWE Tag Titles
This is a great, open match between one great tag team and one team comprising two very experienced workers. The babyface Raw pairing are completely in control early on courtesy of Goldust, but underhanded tactics allow MNM to get in control and tandem beat the Golden One. Inevitably the hot tag is made to Chavo, who is greeted with deafening 'Eddie' chants as he goes to town - the climax being a memorable frog splash on the prone bodies of both Nitro and Mercury. Melina drags Chavo out, however, preventing a possibly disastrous finish for the Smackdown tag champions. Goldust is quickly to Chavo's aid, grabbing Melina over his shoulder and walking up the ramp with her - spanking her all the way. Whilst this does eliminate her from the equation, it also eliminates Goldust. Chavo re-enters the ring and is caught with a Snapshot for the 1-2-3. MNM retain!

We cut backstage to where a door lays, as if torn from its hinges. Smoke rises from it. A security guard lies nearby unconscious, with pennies over his eyes. It looks like The Undertaker is here!

Continued from previous Raw post...

We return from commercial as Shelton Benjamin makes his way out to the ring to solid applause. He's soon joined by the very popular Rob Van Dam, who returned at Royal Rumble and has recently been in an altercation with Intercontinental Champion, Carlito. AJ Styles is next out, the cocky young superstar pausing on the ramp to wait for his partner, the always unpopular Muhammad Hassan.

MATCH THREE - AJ Styles & Muhammad Hassan vs. Shelton Benjamin & RVD
This is the best match of the night thus far, with three very skilled workers and Hassan putting on a real spotfest for the fans. It's mostly focussed around Styles and Benjamin's recent feud, but RVD and Hassan also play big parts. Hassan draws plenty of heat when he's able to isolate RVD and, with Daivari, beat on him outside the ring. This leads to Shelton being tagged in, but he suffers a similar fate after Styles is able to hit him with the Pele kick. He tags in Hassan, who immediately locks the former Intercontinental champion in the Camel Clutch. Suddenly the arena blackens and a single bell tolls. UNDERTAKER IS HERE!

Hassan panics and presumably releases the hold, because when the lights come back on Undertaker is in the ring! CHOKESLAM! The referee is about to ring for the bell but Undertaker fixes him with a steely glare. Shelton covers. 1-2-3! The referee just let Undertaker cost Hassan and Styles the match! AJ isn't sticking around to help his partner either, backtracking up the ramp and shouting abuse at Shelton as he goes.

Undertaker is standing tall in the ring when Eric Bischoff appears on the ramp with several dozen police officers. They all look wary of Undertaker but slowly make their way down the ramp.
Eric: Undertaker, you come on my show and interfere in one of our marquee matches? Well, I'll put a stop to it. You're going to spend tonight in jail and don't you dare try and fight your way out of it! I've got more cops here than you could ever hope to bring down. Maybe next time Teddy will think twice about attempting to fight fire with fire!

Undertaker allows himself to be handcuffed, although his gaze stays on Bischoff the entire time. We go to commercial as Undertaker remains fixed on the Raw general manager.

COMMERCIAL

I spit in the face of people who don't want to be cool

The WWE Intercontinental Champion, Carlito makes his way out to the ring with the gold over his shoulder. Highlights are played of last week's Kane assisted victory over Big Show, which has set up this rematch. Kane has been barred from the ringside during the match on pain of instant sacking.

MATCH FOUR - Carlito (c) vs. The Big Show for the Intercontinental Title
This one plays out much like their first match, with Big Show easily in control of the smaller man for much of this. Carlito's only offence is a brief low blow induced rally, but after failing to hit his finisher, he is chokeslammed to hell by the big man. Big Show showboats a moment too long, playing to the ground as Carlito is dragged out of the ring by someone bearing a striking resemblance to him! Big Show turns around to see this new figure standing, complete in his afro glory, and is momentarily taken aback. The two battle toe to toe before Show's size advantage tells, and he is able to bury this newcomer with a chokeslam. He covers, but the referee realises that it's not Carlito! Carlito slides into the ring and rolls Big Show up! 1-2-3! Carlito retains thanks to help from.... who!?

Carlito helps his ally up and the two retreat with Big Show in pursuit, but Kane comes out onto the ramp and the two big men stare one another down. Their blood feud continues, but who helped Carlito?

COMMERCIAL

Triple H's music hits and The Game struts out to the ring to heavy booing from the fans. He does his trademark pose and spit, grabs a mike, and prepares to talk.
HHH: Kurt Angle... Olympic Gold Medalist.... former WWE Champion.... A-Grade kiss ass and coward. Kurt Angle goes on and on about honour and sportsmanship and... and it makes me sick! You're a five time champion Kurt. You're one of the greatest technical wrestlers in this business and you've only held the gold five times! You know why, Kurt? You know why you've had the gold five times and I've had it ten times? You've been in the business less time than me, sure, but you've missed countless opportunities. You had Eric Bischoff in your pocket last year and couldn't beat John Cena, for Christ's sake! What you lack is killer instinct, Kurt, and that's what I have. That's why I'm the best damn wrestler in the world, and why you're going to be remembered as another great who could have been greater. You're just like every one of these people out here - you've got talents, sure, but in the long run nobody gives a damn. Nobody remembers the talented guys who go nowhere. They remember the guys who get the job done. Kurt, tonight I'm going to show you how a real champion operates. Consider it a free training session.

MATCH FIVE - Triple H vs. Kurt Angle
This is the kind of match that should headline a pay-per-view, with the two very talented workers putting on a thrilling show for the fans. Even so, it's clear that they're holding something back for the pay-off to the feud. Angle and Triple H both have periods of control, but for the most part it's an open affair that has the fans on their toes from start to finish. There's several near falls, each wrestler is able to hit their finisher, and each time the opponent kicks out. The end comes with both men exhausted. Triple H hits a facebuster to the knee and attempts a Pedigree, but Angle backdrops Hunter to the mat and then locks in the ankle lock! Triple H is in real trouble! He scrambles to the ropes and Angle, sportsman that he is, relinquishes the hold. He takes a step back, pauses, and then advances again. Triple H blasts him in the crotch with a blatant low blow! The referee calls for the DQ!

Angle drops to his knees, where Hunter hits him with the Pedigree for good measure.

HHH: Lesson #2, Kurt - Never be afraid to lose a battle or two if it's going to cost you the war.

COMMERCIAL

We're backstage in Eric Bischoff's office when Theodore Long enters.
Teddy: What the hell did you do, playa? You locked the Undertaker up? Well if that 'aint the pot calling the kettle.....
Eric: Theodore, so good to see you! I see you're gradually learning that I'm not a man to mess with. You keep trying to match me, but I'm in the business of one upping you. But you did give me a good idea last week when you booked me in that match against Undertaker. That was a bold move. I thought I'd return the favour. Since you're here, get your gear on, because tonight you're facing that other brother of destruction - the big red machine, Kane!

Long doesn't look pleased!

Out in the ring the pyros hit and Switchfoot's theme for Kane hits as the big red machine stalks down to the ring. Long's music hits and a rather scared looking Smackdown general manager comes down to the ring. He has a mike in hand.

Long: Before we do this, Kane, I just want to say one thing. Eric, I was happy to co-exist with you, but clearly that's not what you want, playa? Where I come from we settle our disputes a little differently. You got a problem with Teddy Long? Then you sort it out with Teddy Long. Playa, I'm challenging you to a match at No Way Out! Let's see how tough you are without Kane at your side!

Long steps into the ring, drops the mike, and like a martyr - accepts the beating that's coming to him.

MATCH SIX- Kane vs. Teddy Long
This is mercifully short. Kane beats on Long for a minute or two before burying him with the chokeslam. The cover gets three, but Big Show is on hand to prevent a further beating. He and Kane brawl out through the crowd.

Eric: You want that match, Teddy? You got it! I called out Vince McMahon during the Monday Night Wars and it was pride on the line. I want this to be different. You think you can beat me? Let's put Smackdown on the line.... 'playa'!

COMMERCIAL

The main event gets underway with Chris Masters strutting out to the ring, John Cena at his side offering words of support. IF YA SMELL! hits and The People's Champion comes down to the ring, lingering a moment to shoot Cena a warning glare.

MATCH SEVEN - Chris Masters vs. The Rock
This one gets underway with the two cocky superstars circling one another, before Masters starts things off with a disrespectful slap to The Rock. Rocky pauses, lets it sink in, and then retaliates with a right hand that drops Masters. The young star isn't so cocky now, rolling to the outside where he gets more advice from Cena before re-entering the ring. They dance some more before Masters comes off the ropes, but is again beaten by Rocky, who lays him out with a clothesline. The crowd cheer and Masters gingerly staggers to his feet. Rocky and he go toe to toe with some punches, and this time a knee to the midsection gives Masters the upper hand. He traps Rock in a pump handle hold for a few moments before slamming him to the mat with the pump handle slam. Cover, but Rocky is out at two. Masters certainly showed Rock he's no pushover there.

He and Rock circle some more, tie up, and again it's Masters who comes out ahead - this time dropping Rock to the mat with a stalling suplex. He comes off the rope and drops an elbow into Rock's throat, turning to Cena for a nod of approval. Rocky's kipped up, however, and Masters turns around right into a stinging right. They rain down, backing Masters into the corner where Rock spits in his palm to send Masters over the top rope. He falls to the mat where Cena is on hand to tend to him. Rocky comes over the top rope and Cena dashes away. Rock gives chase and it's a comical run around the ring, ended when Masters near decapitates Rock with a clothesline as he comes around the corner.

He tosses Rock into the ring, whips him, and goes for the Masterlock. Can the People's Champ break the hold? Can Masters lock it in? No! Rocky is holding it off, and is able to use a snapmare to drop Masters to the floor! Masters staggers to his feet and now Rock's going for the Masterlock! Surely not! He's near locking it in when Cena hits the ring with a chair! Rock ducks the attempted blow. SPINEBUSTER! Cena's down.

Rock turns around and he's again hit with the Masterlock! He's trapped! Masters has it locked in! He's shaking Rock from side to side and it doesn't look good. An agitated Cena gets to his feet, collects the chair, and blasts Rock across the head with it! The referee calls for the bell! Rock may have won, but he's been rendered unconscious - whether by the Masterlock or the chair-shot is anybody's guess.

The night ends with Cena hoisting Rock to his shoulders and hitting an F-U! Cena just sent a loud and clear message to the #1 contender! Scoring CM Punk: Win (+5) = 5 Joey Mercury: Win (+5) and Title Defence (+3) = 8 Johnny Nitro: Win (+5) and Title Defence (+3) = 8 Melina: Interference (+1) = 1 Shelton Benjamin: Win (+5) = 5 Rob Van Dam: Win (+5) = 5 Undertaker: Interference (+1) = 1 Carlito: Win (+5) and Title Defence (+3) = 8 Kurt Angle: Win (+5) = 5 Kane: Win (+5) = 5 The Rock: Win (+5) = 5 John Cena: Interference (+1) = 1 Leaderboard raider_69 - 251 thuganomics - 215.5 Big Pete - 198 GreenGuy - 157 lockyno1 - 145 Knight82 – 148 PARANoIR - 89 Manuwera Marlins - 69.5 Gene Krupa - 42 brooksy19 – 29 Big_bad_Sharks_Fan - 26 MILLWALL – 15

All hell has broken lose as the hostilities between Raw and Smackdown reach a fever pitch. On Raw Eric Bischoff challenged Theodore Long to put his general manager's position on the line at No Way Out - will Long accept? MNM also challenged TNT to what would be a memorable unification bout and TNT are set to give their response tonight!

Samoa Joe, Lashley, and Chris Benoit all clash to see who will take on Booker T at No Way Out for the United States Title. Can the Nation of Domination stay on the same page?

MNM 'warm up' with a title defence against the Legion of Doom. One has to wonder if their minds will be in the right place against the former champions.

Gregory Helms's mouth has been running since he got the gold. He's got a match against cocky young Austin Aries tonight. Can Aries make a dream start to his Smackdown career?

The Undertaker was arrested on Monday night's Raw but he's been bailed out and is set to take on John Bradshaw Layfield tonight. Will the Wrestling God be able to contend with the angry dead man?

Earlier this week a challenge was thrown down - Raw vs. Smackdown. Chris Masters, Kane, and Muhammad Hassan will team up to take on Super Crazy, Psicosis, and Rey Mysterio in a huge second main event

And in the night's main event, Randy Orton will team up with Ken Kennedy to take on Matt Hardy and Batista. Hardy and Orton will face off at No Way Out for the gold, and whoever draws blood here will go in with the upper hand!

Wrestlemania Rumours

Rumours indicate that the main event will be John Cena vs. The Rock, as confirmed on Raw these past few weeks. The Smackdown main event is scheduled to include some combination of Matt Hardy, Randy Orton, and The Undertaker. The third main event will most likely be Eric Bischoff vs. Vince McMahon as advertised on the poster - which would indicate that Bischoff will emerge triumphant at No Way Out from his match against Theodore Long (if it goes ahead at all).

The tag gold is set to be on the line in some kind of four way match whilst the US title receives the same treatment. Obviously the WWE intends to utilise as many of its talents as possible, as the cruiserweight title will also be on the line in a battle royal. Money in the Bank is expected to return as a Raw exclusive match. Coincidentally, Edge's back injury is the reason for him not having cashed in his Money in the Bank shot. It is expected that he will return after Wrestlemania to feud with the eventual winner.

An Eddie Guerrero tribute match is planned, although who exactly will appear in it has not been confirmed. Also watch for Kurt Angle vs. Triple H to peak at Wrestlemania as the two move on to bigger things. Finally, there's word that there may be a Team WWE vs. Team Bischoff match, but this is mere conjecture. Such a match would likely feature talent not being utilised elsewhere in the program.

The final Smackdown before No Way Out gets underway with the brash music of the Nation of Domination hitting. The United States Champion, Booker T is accompanied to the ring by Samoa Joe, Rikishi, and Faarooq. The stable get a hearty booing before Booker T grabs the microphone.
Booker T: I know why you're booing. It's because ya'll can't stand to see a black man with the gold. Ya'll have been tryin' to hold the Booker man, us, down forever and it's not working. Now, you'd think a brother like Lashley would be happy to see the United States represented by an upstanding man such as myself - but he's not. You see, Lashley is a disgrace. Lashley is a man lookin' out for himself. Lashley is never going to hold this United States title. You know why? Because Lashley can't beat me. Lashley...

The crowd pops as Lashley's music hits and the big man appears at the top of the ramp. Rikishi and Samoa Joe step in between Booker T and Lashley, but Booker speaks up.
Booker: Lashley, glad you're here. You see, I've been talking to Teddy Long and I've arranged a match tonight. I've already beaten you for my United States title, but apparently you haven't gotten it through your thick skull yet. So, if you want another beating, you're going to have to earn it. Tonight it'll be you against my man, Samoa Joe and Chris Benoit. Whoever wins will face the Booker Man at No Way Out for the gold!

MATCH ONE - Lashley vs. Chris Benoit vs. Samoa Joe for #1 US Contendership
Benoit runs down to the ring, as Lashley has already slid in and began to exchange blows with Samoa Joe. Rikishi and Faarooq linger at ringside whilst Booker T joins Michael Cole and Tazz to provide commentary on the match. It's all Lashley early on, the biggest man in the ring man-handling Benoit before getting into a charging contest with Samoa Joe. Joe uses his slight speed advantage to get behind Lashley and plant him with a big belly to back suplex.

Benoit is largely marginalised as the two titans clash, but begins to get involved with his brutal technical style before too long. Despite his obvious merits, Benoit is never a major player in this one - due largely to the long standing feud between Lashley and the Nation of Domination.

The end comes about with Benoit out of the ring following a press slam from Samoa Joe. Lashley's got Joe up on one shoulder for the Dominator when Booker T leaves the commentary booth and gets up on the apron. Lashley is distracted and Joe slides free, locking him from behind in the Cochina Clutch! Lashley is stranded in no man's land! The referee asks if he wants to tap, but he refuses to give up. Eventually, however, Joe's patented submission hold proves too great - Lashley is unconscious and Samoa Joe is #1 contender!

Rikishi, Faarooq, and Booker T hit the ring to celebrate their victory by beating down the still unconscious Lashley. Benoit hits the ring to clear them off, planting Rikishi with a German and helping Lashley to his feet. The two challengers stare down the Nation as they back up the ramp.

COMMERCIAL

We return from commercial as LOD 2005 make their way out to the ring for what MNM have called their 'warm up match'. MNM come out with Melina to their usual fanfare, the paparazzi heard to ask questions about MNM's request to unify the tag belts.

MATCH TWO - MNM (c) vs. LOD 2005 for the WWE Tag Titles
As one would expect, this match is mostly about MNM, with LOD 2005's offence being enough to make them look good but not enough to ever make it look like MNM are in any real danger. Animal does, at one point, get Nitro up on his shoulders for the Doomsday Device - but Mercury chops his legs out from under him. Nitro falls atop him and the count is made for the 1-2-3 and a fairly routine retention.

The victory isn't celebrated, however, as TNT's music hits and the Raw tag champions appear at the top of the ramp.
Cade: Well, well, well - so this is where the pretty boys play? You come into our yard and you say you want our gold? We beat Big Show and Kane for this gold. Who did you beat? Oh, the two washed up old men in the ring? Or was it Rey Mysterio and... what was his name?
Murdoch: Some nobody
Cade: Whatever. So, you want to face us? We'd like nothing more. Let's make it No Way Out, shall we? MNM vs. TNT to unify the gold?

MNM are preparing to respond when Theodore Long's music hits and the Smackdown General Manager struts out.
Long: Hold on a second, playas! Last I checked I was still in charge of Smackdown, and last I checked TNT weren't even a part of the Smackdown roster. So you boys can just go and....

The music of The Mexicools hits and Psicosis & Super Crazy ride on lawn mowers. Moments later Paul London and Brian Kendrick sprint out with their neutral masks on.
London: Wait a second, Teddy, think about it! Unify the titles on Smackdown!

Long pauses a second, thinks, and then nods.
Long: Alright, playas, I'll do it. At No Way Out it will be TNT vs. MNM vs. The Mexicools vs. London & Kendrick to unify the tag titles!

The crowd pop as MNM and TNT both look more than a little concerned. They'll now be facing two teams with nothing to lose as well as a fellow championship pairing!

COMMERCIAL

Funaki is already out in the ring when we return from commercial, which is never a good sign. It's an even worse sign when Monty Brown's music hits and the Alpha Male stalks out to the ring.

MATCH TWO - Monty Brown vs. Funaki
This one is mercifully quick. Brown squashes Funaki like he's never been squashed before, hitting him with four suplex variants before nailing the Pounce for the 1-2-3 after just over a minute. Funaki didn't even get a single punch in.

Having barely broken a sweat, Brown swipes a mike from ringside.
Brown: Batista, I'm calling you out for No Way Out. The Alpha Male is the biggest, baddest predator in the Serengeti and there's not room enough for you and me. I'm challenging you under the laws of the jungle. The Alpha Male is not only the most skillful beast, he's also the most intelligent, the youngest, and the most impressive physical specimen. When an old male outstays his welcome in the Serengeti, he's exiled from the pride. That's what I'll do to you at No Way Out. Batista, I'm going to put you out of the misery with the POOOOOOOOOOOUNCE! Period!

A video plays hyping Matt Hardy vs. Randy Orton at No Way Out for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

As the video winds down, we find The Undertaker backstage with a rather meek looking Todd Grisham.
Todd: Undertaker, last week on Raw you were...
Undertaker: Sshhhhh..... Todd Grisham, we will not speak of Eric Bischoff just yet. There are more pressing things on my mind. You see, I have unfinished business with a man who has the audacity to claim he is a legend killer. Randy Orton, you have tried to end me countless times and each time you have failed to get the job done. You cannot kill a dead man, but a dead man can end a legend killer. Orton, you chase after your pretty little title, but remember that all the riches and success in the world will not protect you from death. Rich man or poor man, the maggots care not.

The lights go out and flicker back on. Undertaker is gone, and Grisham stands literally covered in maggots.

The music of cruiserweight champion, Gregory Helms hits as the former Raw superstar struts out to the ring with the gold over his shoulder.
Helms: Since I've come to Smackdown I have proven that I am the greatest cruiserweight champion this business has ever seen. I have made the former champion, Juven...whatever, look like the over-rated spot monkey he is. I've retired Scotty 2 Hotty. I've beaten Nunzio and Kash and Funaki. So what does Teddy Long do? He hires some indy star with wraps on him and sends him to take me down. Alright, Austin Aries let's see what you've got.

MATCH FOUR - Gregory Helms (c) vs. Austin Aries for the Cruiserweight Title
Aries sprints out to the ring to a mild pop from the indy enthusiasts in the crowd, his speed catching Helms unaware as he tackles him and sends him crashing to the mat. He hits some innovative offence (such as his pendulum elbow drop and his twisting body splash from the outside) and Helms is reeling. The champion shows it when he goes to the outside to recuperate, but Aries keeps on the offensive with a running senton to the outside that gets the crowd's adrenaline pumping.

The match continues in this vein, with Aries continually pushing Helms to the limit with a combination of cocky underdog enthusiasm and his unique southpaw offence. Eventually Helms gets frustrated, blasting Aries with the belt to end the match via disqualification.

He's backing up the ramp when Teddy Long's music hits again, and he's ready to make a match.
Long: Gregory, playa, what do you think you're doing? You've been runnin' your mouth about being unbeatable for weeks now, and then you take the coward's way out when I give you an opponent? Well, it's not going to go that way at No Way Out. It'll be you against four other cruiserweights in a match you can't escape from. It will be Gregory Helms vs. Juventud vs. Funaki vs. Nunzio vs. Austin Aries in a ladder match!

Helms objects, but Long has spoken. The commercial fades in with a clearly agitated Helms yelling at the crowd.

We return to see JBL's signature limousine coasting down to the ring. It halts and Layfield steps outside alongside his image consultant, Jillian Hall. The arena blackens and the crowd goes crazy as The Undertaker's music hits and the Phenom makes his way out for what should be a slobberknocker.

MATCH FIVE - The Undertaker vs. John Bradshaw Layfield
The two big brawlers don't waste any time in getting into it, with JBL obviously seeing this match as an opportunity to improve his standing as a potential title contender. He controls things early with his usual heelish tactics, but Undertaker's intensity and skill soon begins to show as he busts out Old School before setting JBL up for a chokeslam. Jillian gets up on the apron to interupt, which causes Undertaker to drag her into the ring. She quakes in fear as Taker advances, but JBL hits a low blow to halt the big man. Clothesline from Hell! Cover 1-2-NO! JBL can't believe it! Jillian has rolled to the outside and the referee is still down as Undertaker catches JBL and buries him with the Last Ride. There's still no referee and...and... Randy Orton is in the ring! RKO! Undertaker is down! He wakes JBL and the 'wrestling God' staggers over to make the cover. The referee is awake. 1-2-3! JBL just beat the Undertaker thanks to a huge assist from Randy Orton!

Whilst JBL and Jillian make a quick exit, we cut backstage to where Eric Bischoff is shown practising for his match against Long. He's punching a bag as Chris Masters spurs him on. Looks like he's taking this match seriously.

We return from the break as Super Crazy & Psicosis ride out to the ring. They'll be representing Smackdown alongside Rey Mysterio in tonight's interpromotional match against Raw! Mysterio is next out, followed by Muhammad Hassan. Masters make his entry before the Big Red Machine's entrance really shakes things up.

MATCH SIX - Team Raw (Kane, Masters, and Hassan) vs. Team Smackdown (The Mexicools & Rey Mysterio)
This one starts off with Psicosis in action against Hassan. The Mexican flier controls things early on, with the memorable spot of the early going being a running splash to the outside to silence Daivari's incessant shouting. This, of course, allows Hassan to tag in Masters - who dominates the smaller Psicosis with his size advantage. Even a desperation tag to Super Crazy fails to reverse the momentum - Crazy caught coming off the ropes and locked in the Masterlock! He's set to pass out, but Masters casts him aside like a rag doll and tags in Kane. Kane beats on Crazy like never before, throwing him around and laying him out with big boots. He tosses Super Crazy to the corner and beckons to Mysterio. Mysterio looks worried, but tags in blind. He comes off the top rope with a springboard - but Kane catches him up top and buries him with a powerbomb.

No! Mysterio is saved by a top rope leg drop from Psicosis! Kane tries to take Psicosis out, but Super Crazy knocks him face first into the ropes with a dropkick. Mysterio's there... 619! Mysterio covers. NO! Hassan comes in to make the save! He locks Mysterio in the Camel Clutch - but Super Crazy lands on his back with a trifecta moonsault. Masters comes in and locks Super Crazy in the Masterlock for the second time! Meanwhile Mysterio has gone to the outside where he signals for Droppin' the Dime, but Kane is up! CHOKESLAM! Kane just caught Rey in mid air! 1-2-3! Team Raw just dominated Team Smackdown!

Eric Bischoff is in the ring when we return from the break, he's celebrating with Team Raw following their dominant win over Team Smackdown.
Bischoff: You know, Teddy, I've been thinking. Why just have you and I face off when we can give the fans a show like that? I'd like nothing more than to have Team Raw demolish Team Smackdown on their own pay-per-view. So, Teddy, if you're game - why not put two of your superstars against two of mine? I know, you need time to decide. After all, on a roster as talentless as this - you'll struggle to find a team to match mine. You see, my team will be two of the men who demolished your men tonight. It will be Muhammad Hassan teaming with.... KANE!

Kane and Hassan slap one another on the back, whilst Masters looks shocked at the decision. Bischoff whispers in his ear and he seems satisfied. No sign of Long.

We return from the break as Randy Orton makes his way out to the ring. He looks cocky after having cost Undertaker a match against JBL earlier in the evening. MIIIIIIIIIIISTER KENNEDY! KENNEDY! His partner, Mr. Kennedy, is out next - looking as arrogant as ever. Next out is The Animal, Batista, who gets a monster pop from the crowd before Matt Hardy comes out to what is probably the third biggest pop of the evening (behind Batista and Undertaker).

MATCH SEVEN - Randy Orton & Ken Kennedy vs. Matt Hardy & Batista
This one starts off with the crowd chanting for Matt Hardy as he squares off against Ken Kennedy, the two brash young stars circling before making initial contact. Kennedy gets in control with a knee to the midsection and a suplex, but his cover barely gets one before Hardy's shoulder is up. Kennedy whips Hardy, who ducks a clothesline attempt and rebounds with a flying crossbody. He scrambles to the top for his signature leg drop, but Kennedy quickly leaps to the turnbuckles and attempts to his his Lambeau Leap! Hardy manages to get loose and turns it into a tornado DDT from the top! The crowd mark out as Hardy covers, but Orton is across to prevent the pinfall. Batista attempts to get in the ring to end the numbers advantage but this only draws the referee, allowing Orton and Kennedy to bash Hardy. Orton slaps his hands together to signal a tag before going to work on Hardy with a side headlock and punches. He whips Hardy and locks in a sleeper hold, but Hardy manages to fight out and hit a jawbreaker. Both men are weak! Orton staggers towards his corner, but Hardy makes the tag. The Animal is in! Kennedy enters and rushes at Batista, only to be planted with a Spinebuster! Orton quickly rolls to the outside, avoding the confrontation. Bob Orton is outside with him, and offers advice as Batista poses in the ring.

Orton gingerly re-enters the ring and Batista is on him instantly, clubbing him across the back with big forearms. Orton is cowed into a corner, but manages to halt Batista with a knee to the stomach followed by a top rope axe handle. He takes Batista down with a wheelbarrow suplex before preparing to hit the RKO. Batista stagers to his feet.... No! Batista shoves Orton away and staggers back to the rope, where Hardy blind tags and comes into the ring with a missile dropkick! Orton is floored! He staggers to his feet... SIDE EFFECT! Kennedy rushes across again, but walks right into a Twist of Fate. Hardy turns around.... RKO! Orton covers.

The bell tolls! Orton leaps to his feet in fear, preparing for The Undertaker's attack. The Undertaker is nowhere to be seen. TWIST OF FATE! Orton just got blind-sided by Hardy. 1-2-3! Orton lost it! The Undertaker's music distracted him and Hardy scores the win!

Orton is furious. Hardy and Batista are celebrating their way up the ramp as the former champion grabs a microphone.
Orton: I am sick to death of this! It's bull****! Undertaker is costing me match after match and I will not stand for it. Teddy Long, if you don't do something about this, I'm going to make sure you lose to Eric Biscoff on Sunday. Teddy, I want my match against Matt to be in a steel cage. Give me that Teddy, or I'll RKO the hell out of you at No Way Out and make sure you don't have a job!

Theodore Long does not come out, but we cut to backstage where he is standing with network representative, Don Callis.
Callis: I say do it, Teddy. Cage matches are proven to increase pay-per-view revenue by 5% in even non title clashes, so imagine what numbers it'll do with the World Heavyweight Title on the line!
Long: And this match with Bischoff?
Callis: Think about the prestige it'll bring to the networ... I mean, Smackdown, if you beat him and shut his mouth once and for all. No more 'Smackdown is the B show' talk. We'll be the hottest act on cable... on television... in the world!
Long: (Pauses) Alright, playa, I'll do it.
