He has Ricky's skills of developing young players.
...getting the best out of his halfbacks.
...selecting on form.
...varying his 'game plan' to suit opposition.
...racking up points.
....and talking to the media.

Flanno had the chance to shut the majority of us up before round 1 by picking Holmes over Brown. We all know who he selected and it just happened to be Brown was worst on ground noteably when he dropped that sitter of a ball that cost us at a vital time in the match.

I agree

drop everyone who drops a ball

except at a 'non-vital time of the match'

that'll fix it

Zero Point talking about this anymore......

You are the expert in everything and everything sharks and footy.

We should of hired you as coaches assistant and we would of won by 40 on the weekend, Holmes would of got 10 trys and not a single mistake would of been made in the first round.

Come on Azzah, it wouldn't have been a sharks loss without a 73 'kick flanno out' thread. Watch for the 'kick flanno out' thread for winning ugly, coming to a forum near you.

Not allowed to express an opinion unless it's positive?

I agree with points on both sides but Flanno is not, IMO a first grade coach. Happy to be proven wrong. Price, well he was a discard from the neighbours.

price was good assistant coach

To Bennett who had the cattle.

Bennett runs his own show. An assistant does not have that much input. It's his team end of story.

Maybe Flanno would be a good assistant - I don't know but he just doesn't appear to have the capacity to construct an attacking game plan. Who did he learn his trade under?

I was really hoping that during his time out of the game he might have watched and learnt. Time will tell I suppose but I'm not that confident with either him or Price.

Last time Flano was coach we almost made the Grand Final .
Last year without flano we came last.

As for Bird and Holmes Flano had them play the 9's and trials .
He is very aware of them and that in itself was probably letting them know.
Both played well.
Brown played in the NRL grand final last year and from memory was a solid player all year.
If he didn't drop that catch you could argue that he almost didn't make any other errors.
You cannot say for sure Holmes would have scored that try.
I am fine with Holmes getting a shot though.

At the same time I can easily see why a coach would select a bloke who scored more try's than anyone else in our team for the last two years running.

Barba was atrocious compared to Brown but do we drop him ?
Wade was probably more costly too...drop him?

I do hope we fix the bench though, Holmes could easily take some minutes getting FG experience. 2 Forwards sharing 20min each is a waste.

Ffs last year was a mess because Flanno put the club in the shit with Asada. That season is on him and he should never have been re-signed.

so far we should drop:

3/4 of the squad, the coach and the board

if we lose this weekend who is there left to sack?

It's not about Brown making the mistake or not scoring the try. It's the fact he got picked to begin with. We already know what he is like as a player. Holmes deserves his crack now. Not next week. Not next year. He won't get it, he'll leave and then everyone will be whinging.

I have watched brown with interest over the last seasons and I have to say he is no world beater

on the same token he is usually safe and strong in defence and reads well

so well that the current most successful coach of the last 5 years selected him regularly in his enormously successful side last year

his dropped ball on the weekend was confirmation candy for those who have favourites in the juniors

some players just cop it on these forums

like dave simmons a few years back despite being the highest try scorer at the club for some years running was the target of impotent forum scapegoating
