I have no issue with having expectations of better behaviour, but what I can't stand is the hypocritical nature that these outlets go on about.

The stories of Fittler,Johns, Langer, and Lockyer all give them the branding of 'Larrikins'. They were laughing at Merrin doing a nudie run through a fox sports shoot for the finals promotion.

But then to go hard at this issue is ridiculous. If this behaviour is so awful, then let's not make light of the behaviour of past players and push them as champions and larrikins.

It doesn’t surprise me that the vote is so one sided. Most people here are so anti-media, especially News Ltd that of course they were going to vote YES.

The problem could have been solved if the Bulldogs put on their idiotic display behind close doors where the media and public most likely would never have heard about it.

Do you fail basic comprehension?

1. This was behind closed doors apart from Montoya passing out outside. The nude photos were taken by a telephoto lens that somehow got vision from level 3. there's no building opposite that hotel which means the photographer was either a long way away or used a scissor lift or climbed a palm tree to get the snaps.

2. When they put it 'behind closed doors' completely six years ago at Belmore, 9 News went further - they planted a journo at the gate to bait players as they entered, used listening devices to record audio, had paps trying to get photos through a side gate, and then when that wasn't enough? PUT A f**kING HELICOPTER OVER THE GROUND.

The problem could be solved by the media not looking for a moral outrage story - especially by putting it front page.

Surely taking a photo of someone without their permission who is naked on a private premises is illegal? Pretty sure Id be arrested if I tried it with the neighbor! Doesn't publishing said photo then fall into porn hate crime category? That player needs to bring charges against the photographer and sue the paper!

Bulldogs where dumb for not hosting the celebrations off the beaten track and somewhere more private if they were going to let their players get that loose. Its not like we didn't know how the scum media would respond.

Really disappointed with the club's response here. Hope the 'investigation' sends some ire back in the Tele's direction.

Damned if they do, damned if they dont, NRL same, I see Beattie has also expressed his "disappointment". Better if they had come out with a simple statement like:

The NRL is disappointed that one of the so called partners of the game tries so hard to damage it. We would encourage RL fans across the country to consume media from outlets that actually care about RL and dont try to destroy it.

Disgraceful. The Bulldogs are the first group of men to drink so much alcohol that they vomited and/or passed out. As we've seen with other Mad Mondays and every other boys night out, alcohol is for calmly sipping while playing cards and discussing the stock market.

Nudity is only allowed amongst footballers if it is a harmless joke in front of Fox Sports camera for finals promos, nudity in the company of other men is sinful, these idiots are acting like they get naked in front of each other after every game!

This is my thinking. The players are off the clock at their end of season drinks. If the story is anything, it is an invasion of privacy.

I used to work in the media (wasn't a journo, but close enough) and this sort of mud-raking bullshit is exactly the reason I left. Largely an industry of parasitic bottom-feeders (not all of them, but a lot) who revel in the misfortune of others and will stop at nothing for a 'story'.

This is never a story if no one's hanging around with cameras. If you're hanging around a site with cameras on the off-chance something will happen, you're not a reporter. Nothing's happening. You're scum. Same as Azzopardi a few years back and any low-life that hangs around an end-of-season party, knowing full well they're there to sniff something out on the off chance it happens. If something illegal kicks off somewhere and you go to report it, fair enough. But this is as low as it gets.

The guy is naked...dunno if anyone else said it but Merrin gets nude for a video and it's all fun and games, yet apparently according to a certain site I read (that I used to work for, and is now as close as bad as it gets) it's 'vile' and 'a black mark' etc. f**k me. It's a guy with his clothes off. Journos don't get that though, by and large, because they've never been part of any sort of frivolity or joking around. No one got hurt, there's no abuse, just a guy with no clothes. Move on.

I was also in media for a bit. I got really quite angry about column inches being devoted to a toxic individual and raised my concerns in an editorial meeting. I was told by the deputy editor that whilst my concerns were noted, the main job of the organisation was to sell a product, not necessarily report what was the best news.

I didn't last much longer in the industry.

Going back to the club funding agreement (2.0), I thought there was a clause put in it about bad behavior from players/clubs? Something grant/Greenberg wanted to put in? After the players and clubs wanting to be genuine partners of the game surely there needs to be accountability and punishment to offenders? Surely there is some way to monetize the effect of this mad Monday issue has had on the start of the finals campaign.

The pathway back from the bridge climb goes right near the balcony the Dogs players were on so a very good chance they could seen, I know because I am a regular at the pub and it is fun waiving to the bridge climbers and them waving back when they go past.
