Even with a new coach though it wouldn't have made any difference there....

Attitude is a word that has been thrown about a fair bit in the past two seasons and it applies again tonight.
There is no real desire to perform or bust a nut and whether or not you want to blame the players for that, it is the job of the coach to get his troops up and about.
That was Daley's biggest shortcoming as NSW coach and it appears to be Madge's in recent times.
As good as the Storm are, a team that is truly united and willing to fight for each other relishes the challenge of taking on the top sides.

I don't think any coach could progress this side higher than it's been this year. I'll probably eat my words when Madge gets the boot though.

Agreed. The sad thing is that we used to be like the Storm with our attitude and desire.

The job was done my friend. We won the comp after so much time. You know how you finish off that one huge project you've been looking forward to complete for ages, and then when you do it you celebrate and you procrastinate.

This is the best description I've seen in a while. This is exactly Souths problem.

I think it comes down to our poor culture from the past coming back to haunt us.

Richo has explained it plenty of times but after winning '14 we just had no idea what to do, and it shows.

What frustrates me though is that the likes of the Cowboys who recently won it for the first time in their history have been able to continue their form and we haven't.

Add in the Roosters who are still competing after 2013 with only 2016 being a blip in the road and it makes you wonder what's going on with our club.

Last night's loss was beyond disappointing. It was unfathomable and unacceptable. I hope the boys understand that.

It's like we're heading back into the dark ages of south Sydney..

The faith in Madge is gone, the players don't appear to be playing for him, the supporters don't have faith in him, he has to go.
If he was still the man for the job then things would've improved after last season.
The talent is there, we have more talent coming in to the club over the next season or two through either signings or juniors, all we need is a coach to bring them through.

madge is going nowhere and if we had the above players back again then we would be in the top 8 for certain in 2017 .

Fully agree shadow we dont even replace the ones leaving it dosent make sense if they are looking for u20s to grow up then that is too long term and more thrashings and a spoon or 2 on the way we need to BUY players swopping farrah for JG or a morris is good why not?
Throwing promising juniors into the deep end and screwing them up dosent help they think if GI was there last night he would have stopped the route? They are dreaming
