All rumours, a lot happening atm with a lot of deals to be sorted and finalised, Madge, Desi, Maloney, Cronk, Moylan.........some noises are getting a bit louder.
Yeah Madge goneski it seems.....

I sensed something in the press conference the other night and he was hiding his emotions well......

Yeah agreed but then I thought I said the downside is Maloney is so ildsiciplined....

I think I was weighing up the pros and cons.

Anyhow Moylan to Cronulla and Maloney to Penrith could happen....

I would like us to keep Cody and he can go even better next season.....

Good to hear R20. We have spent a lot of time in developing Cody as a first grader and he is a true footballer. He has that running ability that you can't train into a player.

You couldn't blame Madge for taking the Titans job.
A poor start to the season for Souths next year and he would be out of a job.
At least at the titans he would have a job for 2 years minimum you would think.
Careerwise the best option for him.
The grand plan may have been to groom seiblod for the job. It may just happen sooner than expected.

Just so people know Seibold has been an assistant under Craig Bellamy working in the Melbourne system. Was also an assistant at manly and is an assistant for the Queensland SOO team. He knows his stuff and he understands a winning culture. I don't want Madge gone but I would feel happy with him taking over.

I don't know much about Siebold but one thing that concerns me a bit is the lack of talk about him being a potential suitor for other clubs.

Nah there are a few clubs that are pursuing him. That's why Souths are keen to give him the job before he leaves.

I'm ok if the club thinks Madge is done and a change of direction is needed.
But don't think appointing the assistant (who is already in the system)... will be the answer.

Agreed. If Madge was leaving on his own terms after a successful stint then I'd be all for an assistant taking over in a handover type way.
I'm not against Siebold getting the job, more cautious. I feel we're currently a job for an experienced coach.

Not keen on Toovey to be honest. If we look at Super League coaches, i would love to see us poach Daryl Powell from Castleford but that may take some doing.

Just out of curiosity a few people on here don't like Seibold? Why? Is there a better option out there?
This is part of the problem with sacking the coach and bringing in someone without any NRL coaching experience - there is always the possibility that they could be worse. I think that sacking Madge would be a terrible move at this point in time, with the club right in the middle of a rebuilding phase. The one thing that you need when you are trying to rebuild is stability. Sacking the coach is going to uncertainty throughout the club from the team's playing style to the commitment of the young players that are just emerging. While many people may not like Madge's style or his personality he is a proven winner and while we haven't set the world alight these last couple of seasons we haven't been horrendous. More crucially, Maguire has proven that he is capable of bringing young players through and developing them to a first grade level. If we are going to bring in a new coach then this is an absolute must!

Is Toovey really even an upgrade from Madge? I mean he hasn't exactly set the world alight since things went down hill at Manly.

He was at Bradford didn't have a visa and they started on -12 points after losing all their squad. It's hard to judge him on that.

Madge had to go and I'm glad the board have taken action.
Thanks for everything and I wish him well.
