Jarrod Hayne's Dad, Monoa Thompson, played here as well. He may have been listed as a Fijian though. He was awesome for Souths but never turned it on for the Warriors

yeah, well we had all those crap imports from rugby, Kirwan, Carter, & Ellis being the most notable, then we had all those crap imports from ESL - bontica, betts, bell, platt.. it was just one big shit fest where we thought aussies werent needed....

dont forget Monie though

So an Aussie coach and CEO upon inauguration didn't look to their own country for players? That's odd.

For the record I thought Betts and Platt did OK and weren't bad buys as such. They added experience and calm heads to an excitable debut pack.

Pursuing the ex-All Blacks (bar Ridge) was a poor strategy. However, rugby league had been hunting Kirwan for most of his career. You can't blame our lot for finally nailing him, albeit several years too late.

I see JK has been given a 'Sir'? That alone disqualifies him from having anything to do with rugby league.

Best not to mention that to sir Peter aka the mad butcher

I can only blame John Key for this archaic madness.

Fancy rugby league folk getting around all high and mighty and calling themselves Sir.

Does the Mad Butcher still stand next to the leaner and enjoy a Lion Red with his mates?
