Having to shed more players to keep BS they would have to hope for an injury free season.
This never happens so Manly will likely start heading south on the ladder around Origin time and never recover.
Because there have to be 25 players counted in the salary cap. Manly signed plenty of players but obviously most won't be in the top 25. I have no doubt they would have only signed those players if they were low value in which case they simply replace others in the top 25 (Oldfield, Whare, Lussick, T-Rex, Harrison etc).
Because Lussick, Whate, Oldfield, Harrison were on huge money...
One thing for sure, if they shed Wolfman, Rose, Mauro their depth is horrible.
Far from it Patorick. You guys will be represented at Origin time and every team gets injuries. My post combined both of those to a team with questionable (dependant on what ensues from this revelation) depth a team will struggle to gain momentum against a team that isn't affected.
Why is the NRL always picking on Stewart?
I hate him as much as the next Manly hater but why not withold another players contract?
I guess it wouldnt make news if they witheld t-rex or Rose up.
we've lost more then we've signed the past few seasons.
good try though.
speaking of which hows pinning your hopes on another dog? quiet a list now.
sbw, myles, o'meley, mason, anasta, kouapristis. forgot the others...
Have to agree there Patorick.
In 2011, Melbourne were not supposed to make the 8. They won the minor premiership.
In 2012, they weren't meant to feature at all. We all know how that turned out.
I reckon Manly will do alright next year regardless but we'll see who they offload.

Who claimed Melbourne wouldn't feature and how high were they?
Not that there is any proof but many of us think things don't add up over at Belmore way.
Mauro and Rose are plodders anyway, get rid of those two and they'll keep Stewart.
good for you guys. this is the same group that people said wouldn't make the 8 and des wasn't able to work magic with a bunch of "rejects".
as someone else said earlier, until tony williams the highest paid player was frank pritchard at 400k.
dogs don't have a bunch of players on 400-600k+ like most clubs.
further more with the list off contract dogs got a bucket load of cash again to retain and spend.
