Don't listen to them, DoggiesBro. Everybody on the internet still thinks the Storm are over the cap... not that anybody has any proof. f**k em, mate.

I don't think the Storm are over the cap, they are the most average team in the comp bar 4 players

I think the dogs would be considering the spending spree they have been on since 2008,i think the Tigers would be close,Penrith and Parramatta will be surely in 2014,i also tend to think that the Rabbitohs would be thumbing some nose at the salary cap auditor, possibly the Titans before Prince left but now not so much

The Storm without Slater,Smith and Cronk are bog average,if any of the 3 get injured its game over for them, that is their choice and i respect that choice as theres more of a chance of 14 others being injured rather than the 3 the way they are used,Widdop isn't there yet

Fact is Manly has never once been caught over the cap,Most if not all other clubs have been so who are the fans of those clubs to make a stupid thread name like this,Manly hasnt even been a buck over we have had ZERO fines for cap breaching ever,i'd be shocked if anyone has been as cap compliant as Manly

We have had a capped salary since before any other club because we didnt want to fall into the same trap Newtown did

Mod has to change the thread title as its miss leading and innacurrate

After 5 straight losses all the "experts" said they were no chance. In 2011 the "experts" has us not even making the eight.

As Patorick said; Haters gonna hate.

Do you have any sources to back these claims?

In the stories I recall, the 'experts' spoke about the Storm's quite obvious form slump, but admitted any team with Smith, Slater and Cronk were as dangerous as any.

It's funny how different people remember past events.

I don't know if everybody thinks they are over the cap.
I think most people are pissed off about how they systematically cheated, and were able to retain 3 of the top players in the game on their books.
But, of course, I don't have any proof.

I assume they asked Schubert to have a look and to see what they can do. The Sea Eagles aren't the Storm, Bulldogs or Warriors - they are trying to work it out before the season starts.

If they need to ask Schubert what to do then they're incompetent.

You've got 5m, your top 25 players can't add up to more than that. Don't sign players you can't afford, it's pretty straight forward...

Now some players with families to feed & mortgages to pay will likely be forced out and lucky if they can pick up a salary anywhere near what they're on at the Sea Eagles this late in the season.

You obviously weren't on Facebook when they won the premiership...

Yeh because as individuals we are all direct representations of our clubs morals, beliefs & acts.

Keep trying to sweep it under the rug all you like by trying to deflect the attention on other clubs but this is a major stuff up.

Wow, everyone. Maybe let your little hissy fit finish before you type.
You are current premiers, i would have thougt you'd be busy enjoying that fact.
I see the victim mentality is alive and well, Imagine my surprise it is from a storm fan. Yeah your club is a victim.

Facebook defence, FMD you are scraping the bottom of the barrel :lol::lol:

Les, I doubt that entirely - unless Hoffman returned on his old wage - which I doubt. I have no problem with the ethics of their last premiership.

Canterbury signing TRex must be the bargain deal club of the moment - considering they cannot rely on cheap juniors shining in their debut year.

And Doggiesbro - I'd happily list the Dogs buys against the losses you list in the same period if I could be bothered.

Off the top of my head (forgetting others as well)
Ennis, Pritchard, Graham, Morris, Eastwood, Hannant, Keating, Hodgkinson, Turner, Halatau, Kimmorley.........

Biggest shopping trolley in the NRL.

"The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that the Sea Eagles had planned to move Brent Kite to Wests Tigers before coach Tim Sheens was sacked and the deal collapsed."

Here in lies the problem, if Kite had gone would that mean that Manly would be just under the cap? Maybe Manly signed players (or resigned) on a promise made by Stephen Humphreys. I suspect Manly may have acted in good faith with everyone.

Is it possible that the dodgy arsewipe that runs the Tigers has stuffed up another club?

25th Sept - Tim Sheens sacked
1st Nov - Brenton Lawrence signs with Manly
12th Nov - Esi Tonga & Justin Horo sign with Manly

This is no one but the Eagles fault, lol @ trying to put it on the Tigers.

Don't forget Brenton Lawrence from the Titans earlier this month too.

Who are they kidding?

By the sounds of it a lot of idiots on this forum, yourself included, believe Manly are going to have 35 players in their top 25. Manly have signed a lot of players, most will not be part of the NRL salary cap and will probably not get a run in 1st grade.

It's pretty simple guys. The Eagles needed to offload 2 big signings but were only able to get rid of 1. From the moment Kite's Tigers deal fell through they were in trouble. It's not intentional. It's not rorting. It's not stupidity. It's trying to get the best bang for your buck.
