Manly Salary Cap

So another cap breach that the NRL would have no f**king clue about if not for a disgruntled former employee. Seriously shut down the salary cap side of the integrity unit and use the money saved to entice whistle blowers - even if none come forward they'll lose nothing.

Agreed, integrity unit funding has gone through the roof yet they still can’t independently discover this sht. Have they ever found any major breaches on their own? Some might say the nrl doesn’t really want to open Pandora’s box as we saw with the response to the Andrew gee situation. It’s only when faced with third parties coming forward tha they can’t ignore it and have to act.

Didn’t the nrl discover this latest cheating or was it the police in their investigation?

Has the NRL ever 'discovered' cap cheating??? Or have the big rorts all been through whistle blowers?

I like the idea of a salary cap but the governing body has NFI who is getting what and from where it is coming from.

Can we please get some dunce in to the big chair to work out a very simple system to avoid this bullshit??? And f**k the RLPA off unless they come to the party and sort this bs out once and for all re TPA deals.

Clubs get rich people to pay for their players. The clubs with more access to rich people win. That’s the fact the nrl is both unwilling and unable to deal with.

How many genuine 3rd party deals are there? You’d have to have rocks in your head to associate your company publicly to most of these dolts. I think I saw Billy Slater in a Gatorade commercial once and that’s about it.

So no points docked? Why? If it's true that they were registering players for less than what hey were paying them then they definitely should lose points. That isn't just an error on the books that's cheating. Now with the TPAs with the old woman which were organised by the club? I don't care if you broke the cap by 400k or 10mil if you're doing it in a manner that is dodgy like this then points should be deducted. Even the Warriors who just had a small infringement had 4 points docked

The NRL are telling us Manly are now kosher with their cap for 2018 so basically they will get there cap reduced by 400g and a hefty fine. My beef is 90% of their roster was assembled when they were not compliant. Other clubs were diss\advantage as they could not compete with Manly in signing these players and most of them are still on their roster.

As usual the NRL's bark is much bigger than their bite
