Manly Salary Cap

Paul Kent says nothing untowards has happened - and his good mate Eddie defo has done nothing wrong, in fact, he's the victim...... so all must be ok!
Wonder why Paul is so quick to defend this lot when he has history of dragging certain stories/scandals with much less impact on the game on and on and on...
It's just a good job none of the Manly boys or good old mate Eddie write initials anywhere on their arms, or he'd be going all Sherlock Holmes to find out what it 'could' mean....
I wonder why the different approach to this potential/alleged scandal....
If you have listened to last Sunday's Triple m league program he is more concerned as to what FKL meant on Fafita's forearm and why he hasn't apologised.

NRL have moved in to manly hq.

Manly Sea Eagles majority owner Scott Penn has implored the National Rugby League's integrity unit to produce any information they have that suggests a breach of the competition's salary cap rules after investigators descended upon the club's Narrabeen offices.
NRL integrity unit lawyer Joe Collins and salary cap auditor Richard Gardham arrived at Manly headquarters, accompanied by other forensic accountants, just after 10am on Wednesday.
Integrity unit investigators arrived at the club's headquarters armed with a written request for reams of emails and other documentation.
Penn said the visit had been arranged by him after he met with NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg and chief operating officer Nick Weeks on Tuesday.

Strike Force Nuralda was established in September last year to investigate allegations of match-fixing that had rocked the code.
The strike force uncovered a lucrative trade in inside information, which is itself a criminal offence. On top of that, detectives have also been informed of a number of potential salary cap breaches with undisclosed third-party payments being made to players from a number of clubs, including Manly.
The strike force has been aided in its investigation by the NSW Crime Commission, which has used its extraordinary powers to compel players, officials and others to give evidence in camera.
Over the past month, several high-profile current and former Manly players have been called to give evidence at the Crime Commission's Kent Street offices.
It is understood that intelligence has been gathered about a large sum of cash being handed over in a car park to a then Manly player. Another star Manly player is also the subject of allegations involving undisclosed player payments.

Think we should be astounded if there is anything but a whitewash after this visit by the incompetent NRL

With no whistleblower apparent , not even the Eagles will document indiscretions, so not sure why they are bothering other than to look as if they are doing something.

This whole thing is a fishing expedition and nothing more.

I notice that every report notes various clubs. Why is Manly the only one sprayed across every media outlet?

Greenberg is a joke as is this whole debacle.

One thing I can guarantee - there will be nothing in the board meeting minutes noting salary cap rorts lol

Yes, it certainly is curious how Manly is the only club actually named and shamed (without proof), when the other "number of clubs" somehow remain anonymous.

Over to you Toddy.

Maybe Manly are the first team they look at.

They have to be fired up for their game against the dragons. Manly sure will take out their frustration on us this week. Thanks Grrenburg and thanks NRL.

They love it, I remember when Brett Stewart was stood down, they soaked up the whole "us against the world" mentality, if it's not 14-2 penalty counts it's the NRL swooping into their offices to investigate alleged match fixing.. don't know how they can possibly go on

Sometimes I wonder if these things are what I'm attempting to have rugby league related conversations with on here.

That was the first and only day El D got to touch some boob.

Who was your preference of the two El D? Hard to choose I guess.
