good on manly/the council for thinking about revenue streams [their leagues club gives less money to their footy team than Norths currently do, and the loss of maxie dollars means $ thinking like this is smart].
Japanese electronics manufacturer, best known for their printers.
This would be a huge shame - love grounds with there traditional names and names of famous people and players. But you gotta do what you gotta do, a sponsor of the stadium brings in some nice dough.
Mt Smart Stadium?
well its not a 'stadium' so what will it be called.
Park?
Oval?
sh*thole?

That would depend upon the leasing arrangement between the club and the council.
I think it's easy to infer from this article that the money would help the footy club, one way or another.
The only value in the sponsorship is having a team in a nationally recognised and televised sport.
If the council got 300k for naming rights sponsorship of an oval with no big name tennant, Warringah council would have every park, oval, reserve, golf course, beach and walkway all sponsored and making a motza...
There are a few Sponsored ovals in Sydney that get very little coverage on the Television: Western Weekender Stadium, New Era Stadium...
A lot of Councils sell advertising on street signs, etc.
