of course they'll over react, melb and manly will lose a few players for some of the semis and teams 7 and 8 will get a better chance than they deserve. we'll get this crap about a "bad look" for the game, despite AFL having wild brawls which only seem to end in fines.

They're trying to make sure that mums and dad don't stop their kids from playing footy because they might get punched. The only mums and dads that will be turning away from rugby league because of the fight are the ones that are too stupid to realise that the very real possibility of a footy player breaking their neck (which was also on display int eh same game) is a greater risk than the possibility their kid could get punched.

It's no worse than the kick in the face players cop when the attacker is bucking like a bronco on the ground. Those happen all the damn time and nothing is done about it. This is more or less the same.
