Matai to warriors in 2015

This whole thing is a debacle !! I see McFadden on the news saying they haven't made any approach at all to Matai and they are happy with the centres already there, then see Matais manager saying they are going to work on an extension with Manly, and then all the other reports about wanting out etc

Just goes to show how good the media are at what they do

Do we actually have an offer on the table for Matai?? Seems to be a bit of confusion.

Beaver.
What's your take on the supposed unrest at Manly?

It's hard to read tbh, I do think that half the shit being written in the papers is rubbish, but there may be a little element of truth to some of it

What is known for sure is that Peter Peters is doing all he can using his media contacts to get rid of David Perry, and his mates at the telegraph are happy to run with that, regardless of whether their story completely contradicts what they wrote 2 days earlier

Many signs do seem to point to some skulduggery from Peters...

If there was as much trouble as the media is suggesting, they wouldn't be playing this well imo

'Choc, Snake, & Matai look like they want out cause of the way the club treated Gifty.' (ABC News).

Hope this doesn't rebound on us this weekend.

Honestly, they're sooks.

Glenn Stewart is past his use-by date and has hardly been sighted on the field all year. It's simple business. These guys would seemingly prefer if the club kept all their mates until they were 40, and completely set their side back for future years.

I don't think we're in for an ambush at all.

From what I hear the club is desperate to re-sign DCE and, rather than sign for a lower price, he is keen to go to the market for the best offer.
Because of this Manly doesn't know what money is available to re-sign current players.

Big danger is they will not re-sign current players, Matai, Watmough, Stewart etc but will then also lose DCE. Leaving them in a big hole for next year.

Of course the players not being re-signed are unhappy; they have taken the club to the top and, if reports are to be believed, have played for reduced wages to stay with the club.

Interesting times for Manly.

If I'm Manly, as great as these other guys have been (I'm a huge fan of Brett Stewart and Matai in particular), I'm doing absolutely everything needed to keep DCE in the fold.

That 900 mentioned in the papers is absolute garbage, I know that as fact

A fairly good, reliable source has told me to expect an announcement in the next couple of weeks about Matai being granted his release

The future for Manly is DCE, Foran, Hiku, Buhrer & Gutherson. These should be the priority, not the Stewart bros or Matai or Watmuff.

It's amazing that despite all this crap within the playing group, management & at board level, they are easily the side to beat and are playing superbly.

Would have to think there is something there. His special needs brother in Auckland would be the primary reason to get his release I'd guess
Our coach came out recently and stated that ship has sailed.

Be interesting to see what is actually going on. What do you make of Fozz coming out and basically adding fuel to the fire ?

Personally I prefer when good players / clubmen speak out....i'd rather hear there is a problem than have people bury their heads in the sand and summarily dismiss issues.

I get the feeling this is really going to happen. Should be good too. High chance one of Hurrel Laumape and Matai to be injured or suspended on any given weekend, so not a lot to worry about with overcrowding
