Tbh as much as I want us to get the 2 points I was hoping we’d face the Roosters at full strength with Cronk there to gauge how far we’ve come as a team.

If we win they’ll just say we beat a Roosters team with Brock Lamb at HB and that we’ve been given a saloon passage into the top 8 (I’m picturing Tommy Smith saying this like he did with the Panthers a few years back).

I know you can only beat what’s in front of you but I want us to line up against the best and prove we’re no fluke. Maybe I’m just being weird...

The other Roosters half named Lam must be injured. Keary will take over steering the side around and Lamb will just catch and pass though should see the best of him in a strong line up.

Don't worry, we've got the Storm and the Bunnies after the Roosters. We'll be tested plenty. Cronk being out wouldn't even be enough for us to win in past years, tbh. I'll take the win if it comes.

Even with Cronk missing they’re still a great side.

If we beat them on the back of 3 road trips and a short turnaround it’ll be a great achievement.

Let’s not forget that Keary won the Clive Churchill medal in the GF last year while Cronk was basically a passenger in that game. I think he’s more than proven that he can step up and run that team without a dominant half beside him.

It’s been a while since we beat the Roosters so I’ll take what we can get. They’re still deservedly warm favourites even without Cronk and if we can knock them off I’ll be absolutely stoked.

Haven’t been anticipating a game against the roosters like this since ‘13.
They always sort us out.

Wasn’t it last year when we played them in Sydney; and it was hyped up because first game Pearce/Guerra/Watson were playing against them? We got smashed.

They’ve knocked us out of the Finals (3?) times?

I can’t stand the Roosters. We have only beat them twice (!) since 2011.

They are a strong strong. In seasons gone by, I would have been hoping for a fluke underdog sorta win but this season I think we are good enough to win it based solely on our own strengths.

Rugby League is a simple game, the team that runs and tackles harder usually wins. We have been running and tackling harder than I have seen a Knights team do since 2001-2003ish.

I'm gonna calm down a little and say the winning team won't win it by more than 4 points. Hopefully it'll be the Knights!

The crowd is looking really good. GA sold out, bottom tiers of Western and Eastern nearly sold out. If all the Members turn up, could be largest crowd in about 5 or so years (the Rise for Alex game against the Titans where we had 26,401)

Yeah - I hope it is filled by a lot of Knights fans coming back to the believers fold and not a lot of fair weather, latte sipping roosters fans filling up seats ;)

Think we might get there early, watch the Cantebury cup and soak up a bit of the atmosphere.

On the game, I think it presents a different danger with Cronk and Tetevano (to a lesser extent) out.

That potential mental relaxation that Cronk is not there needs to be managed and we need to still play as if they are at full strength to get over the squad the Roosters will field.

I don't expect more than 4 points in it either way but we can really stamp our season as genuine top 8 material if we can build on the intensity and cohesion we've been progressively developing over the past few weeks.

This will be our biggest mental test - we have shown we've got the game to beat these guys and now it is about attitude and belief...I can't wait!

all I want is a good fair game and not an outcome dictated by referees.

Hope all our boys take an angry pill before the game. If we're not bullied we have a chance.

As with most games that aren't massive blowouts, I expect the result to come down to converting opportunities. I have no doubt we'll be up for it, and we'll get chances to score, but we need to take at least 3 or 4 of those chances to win the game - and particularly in the first half. It's something we weren't doing very well in the opening 6 rounds. This is a game were playing quite well won't be good enough. It needs to be clinical.

Early on I'd love to see us throw something a bit different at the Roosters that they're not expecting. I'm not talking a chip and chase or anything crazy, but our very structured attack hasn't been anywhere near as good as when we attack off the cuff. In the first 20 minutes it always seems like we're going through the motions inside the 20, we're not deep enough and we're predictable.

Even something as simple as setting up the big sweep play at the very first chance we get and then using Ponga as a decoy, which we almost never do. They will be sweating on that Ponga step back inside after last week, and we'd be smart in the early stages do the complete opposite. Set up for the shift left then attack the short side right, or better yet set up for the shift left and use Ponga's presence to create some space for Hunt and Lee. Gaps won't open up the way they did against the Dragons.

Oh and we need to stop giving away mountains of penalties, especially the ones late in the set.

I just want to see us do the same thing we have done all month. Run hard and straight, Pearce kick for field position. We have been great at limiting opposition territory the last few games. I think both Parra and the Dragons had 5 tackles in our half or something the first 40 minutes.

Keep rushing up together and tacking and driving every player back. Hopefully Levi is focused and keeps winning us the ruck battle so it opens up space for Ponga, Pearce and Mann to provide creatively.

Can't see us losing this one by too much. If we do lose, let's make the Roosters earn the win.
