Yeah, a lot to
We probably wont win it but this has been a really good game from the tigers, they’ve got in the grind, defence has been fabulous, just need to get that attack to click
Yeah, look forward to the future, if they can keep this squad together, not something we could say to often over the last decade.

The backs are starting to own up, Bula is just a gun-in waiting.

Scoreline flattered Souths. First 20 minutes we played league at a top 4 team level. Would have said 70 minutes, but top level teams also have offense. We're still completely bereft of ideas in attack. Fix that, maintain the defence and we're good.

We are a real chance of top 8 next year. If not then Benji might take us there in his first year as head coach.

It's looking like our fortunes will change faster than I anticipated last year.

Even though it was a loss I congratulate the boys on a great effort.

Defensive Effort is all we witnessed today , while yet again absolutely Zero in playing the other half of football. Coaching is failing miserably to show any improvement in developing players to attack, and it isnt just the halves. There is hardly any effort to offload and even less effort to support the odd one they could eventuate. Attack and passing is flat footed and amateur right across the team, it looks boring and shithouse and until that changes they will get sick of defending their arse of week in and week out. The blow outs will start very shortly , mark my words.

No point completing 90%+ of our sets if we don't throw anything at the opposition. We look good coming out of our half but then look clueless on the attack. The ball never goes more than two passes wide and no-one even tries running a line. Even the attacking kicks are conservative.

Defence was good, but I think South's played within themselves once they got 8-0 up. They knew the only way we would score two tries would be off their errors so put the cue in the rack a bit.

This is as good as this side is going to get until we get new halves, because we won’t be getting new coaches anytime soon.
It's not only the halves... they are all clueless in attack apart from perhaps Bateman.

100% agree but defence is also the foundation for good footy.

I’d risk getting schuster or someone of quality that doesn’t tick all the box’s to not have to watch that again. He’s a risk but this can’t go on
Do you know how hard it is to lose 4 kgs?
But yea at the same time a few times players had the offload ready, but no one in site to support so there’s more to it
Twal and Klemmer will be in the mix for mom.
Korisau’s didn’t do much
Kapaoa looked like he wanted to make a difference

Seriously, we have two extremely skillful second rowers who never touch the ball on the attack. Instead it goes to Twal or Klemmer or Ofa for a nothing hit up.

For years Brooks was obsessed with giving Lawrence a crash ball, and now we have a great option for that play in Paps and it's nowhere to be seen.

Talau seems to refuse to pass the ball to Tupou who is a genuine attacking threat. I think the only time in the past three weeks Tupou has touched the ball in the attacking 20 was the try he scored last week. Nofa barely sees the ball either.

I don’t necessarily agree with this, I agree our halves need work, Brooks’ last couple of games have been ok, I thought his composure today was NRL halfback worthy, I think if we can jump on the back of the ‘consistency’ we’re looking like developing something. South’s have been red hot and we stayed within a try of them for 75 mins. It was the best footy I’ve seen from the tigers in years

How very frustrating, never ever looked like scoring.
Bereft of any idea within the 20m zone. Thats the negative.

Love to see big Stefano be used differently close to the line.

Defence though was outstanding for 70 minutes, unfortunately the game doesn’t end at the 70 minute mark.
Another negative.

Brooks and Talau stood out for their defence, but Brooks usually defends very well. A positive for me.

Was it the tv angle or were there a number of forward passes by South’s in the 1st 20 minutes?

Nofa did well again and young Bula keeps on improving.

Schuster is a pretender, an ill disciplined show pony I wouldn’t spend anymore than 300k for potential and he is gonna want at least double that

Better than watching this rubbish. Loosing 4kg in one week isn’t being a pretender. And $600 is worth the risk. But I think we could get him for 5 - 550 of the 8

I thought we did alright for most of the game, but we lost and imo nothing else really matters atm.

I just don't know what to make of Brooks, he has shown us what it's like when he plays well, but it's normally only been a few times a year for the last 11 years. We need someone who can get us over the line more consistently.

We beat Penrith in the rain and I think we’re seeing yip just checked the score that the St George win wasn’t that much to get excited about

It certainly is the foundation... but unless the rest is addressed and improved it's pointless. The fact is it hasn't improved in a full of season and 11 rounds of games , in fact it seems to be regressing in an attempt to not make mistakes. You just can not maintain trying to defend your way to victory and it will show as I said toward the 2nd half of the season.

I didn’t se the game, heard the last 15 or so on the radio. Commentators there and both my tigers and souths mates all said the game was a lot closer than the scoreline indicated. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.
