I'm really liking Pearce and Mann together. I would like to see Lee get a run at fullback as well. Either way, good to see us with some depth.

Im with Perverse on this one. As much as I would hate to see him miss a game for the Knights. Would love to see him play the final two Origin games this year and 2005 Joey style it.

Just got notified on FB Messenger that along with Ponga, Jaifiti and King have been cut off the team list.

So we might be seeing the Soulman strut his thing this weekend.

Has Lino ever played fullback? There's your answer.

It really doesn't matter these days where players are named.

5. Shaun Kenny Dowell
6. Kurt Mann
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. David Klemmer
14. Jamie Buhrer
10. Daniel Saifiti (needs to have his best game of the year)
11. Lachlan Fitzgibbon
12. Mitch Barnett
13. Tim Glasby

15. Herman Ese'ese
16.James Gavet
17. Sione Mata'utia
19. Pasami Saulo

This is the side I'd go with. Klemmer to limit his minutes. Mann shouldn't play anywhere but 5/8 unless he is injured. He has been really good there and it's a position that has been a weakness for us in the past.

Watson to just stick to his strengths and run the ball strong at the back, he can move to hooker to spell Buhrer at different stages of the game. I think Sione could fill in there for small stints too.

This game is very important for our season and it's winnable. Not having Ponga is a huge blow, but I think the above side is the strongest 17 we can pick.

I like it a lot and Watson is probably the second best FB at the club. I agree Mann should stay 5/8 and leave him there. Buhrer does a fair job and wouldnt let anyone down and 3 big boys on the bench is the way to go against the Bunnies. Sione adds versatility. ....Lino shouldnt be anywhere near first grade if avoidable.

Increasingly worried about tonight. Think we might be in for a tough night if Cook is in the mood

Likewise. Despite all the players missing from their spine, I just look at that forward pack and wonder if we can hold them in the middle. We've been playing well but Souths look very strong and fresh up front. Plus Cook is the one I wish was missing out for them, but he's the one playing.

We lose that touch of class without Ponga as well. Hope I'm wrong, but I sense a bit of a bubble burster tonight.

That said, first 25 minutes will be crucial. My confidence would skyrocket if we held them early and were in the game in the second half. My concern is that the Burgess boys, Murray, Cook etc blow us away early.

Bingo. If it’s a repeat of the Manly/Titans game and a slow start, we’ll be in big trouble. The forward pack outside of Klemmer need to put in work.

Lino no doubt picked with goal kicking in mind with Ponga out, not a Lino fan but can see the logic in it. He played ok in reserves last time without starring.
