If we don't get it then an injustice has happened imo.

Who the f**k could say, I don't even care. Whatever he tells them to do, they either can't do it for him, won't do it for him, or they're doing it for him and it's the dumbest shit on the planet.
Knights wooden spooners 2005
And 2015
And 2025 (probably)

What the f**k went wrong back in 1995?

And what is the alternative? Spread the ball off every slow ptb? We do that and our backs catch the ball with a defender 30cm away.

There were a number of sets tonight where we were making quite a lot of metres around the ruck but instead of then moving the Dragons forwards around when we had a roll on we kept just going one out. The Dragons pack is big but they’re not very mobile, not trying to move them around at every opportunity is dumb.

I’m not sure if that’s more on AOB or Blake Green or the senior players (I’d imagine all of the above) but the squad seems incapable of adjusting the plan online during the game based on what’s happening.

And is it based off the green light from AOB? Does he tell them to play turgid, one out, risk free attack for 70minutes and then turn it on at the death? Or is 70minutes the maximum the players can tolerate following the game plan before they take matters into their own hands?
It is amazing how often it happens with the Knights this year. You can set your watch to 70 minutes every game. Im going option B

It must be very re-assuring for this side that the coach believes they are not capable of attacking outside of the structure provided. There are times in the game where you see hesitation to play what they see in front of them. The O’Brien game plan makes any form of scoreboard blow out impossible to overturn. They are coached to run sides
Down based on a tight scoreboard.

I think it’s more the case of the opposition knowing they’ve got it won and taking their foot off the pedal rather than us suddenly being able to attack.

For the record, nobody is saying that our forwards aren’t a huge issue with our attack. They obviously are and it’s the biggest talking point on the forum at the moment, however if the club is excusing AOB’s performances because our pack is currently weak (which I strongly suspect they are as a way of the board justifying to themselves not paying him out) that’s really shortsighted.

Last year our forwards were in the top 4 for running metres but still we were playing dreadful football in attack. What was the excuse for last year? Yes we slipped into the finals at the end but there’s no denying we were playing dreadful football for the majority of the year. So anyone that thinks we’re suddenly going to be playing great footy under AOB even if we managed to fix the forward pack is delusional. We’ve actually had a pretty strong pack for most of his tenure here IMO (this year aside obviously) but nothing to show for it.

Exactly.

We’ve watched Penrith be the most dominant side in terms of field position ever for the past five years in spite of what under AOB would be the crippling issue of not having a great power runner through the middle (besides 20 mins of Spencer Leniu for a few years). You watch Fisher Harris or Leota take a run off the kick off, you’d wonder how this could be the most dominant side ever. It’s all based on how well they move opposing middles around and make each tackle in yardage just that little bit harder and more fatiguing. And of course Cleary’s kicking game helps massively, and back five yardage… but even then players like Turuva, Tago, Edwards, To’o these are not big boys. To’o has got spiders on him, but they maximise that back five yardage with constant late footwork, changes of angle, they’ll throw offloads, etc.

It’s all easier said than done of course but while they’re known as a “grinding” team, the game plan is all about asking constant small questions which add up over the 80, rather than chasing the big plays constantly. The big plays come off the back of the small questions.

Whereas with AOB it’s the opposite. Never ask the “smaller” questions, just try to win the middle by running hard and holding the ball, and then in VERY specific circumstances put one of our boring and predictable block plays on. The way we train it’s like they’re told “and then you’ll score a try”, and they shit themselves when they don’t.

That’s a fair assessment.

Although you’d have to wonder why the opposition didn’t realise an hour prior, and just loaf accordingly.

So glad I was at work for the most part of this game and could only watch on my phone while doing other things. I turned it off at 20-nil down and only checked the final score later on.

I'm mentally preparing to get kicked out of HBF Park here in Perth in a few weeks due to loud and offensive language. My 9yr old nephew is gonna learn a whole new vocabulary that afternoon...

Anyone else going to be glad to see the back end of KPP? They were all praises for him last night but I can't recall any time he's actually played well for us. Pretty obvious why we aren't even giving him an offer.

Let's not kid ourselves we were awful and had nothing until the last 10 mins but the Dragons were hardly blitzing it. Apart from that 15 min period, they were almost as bad as we were. A quality team would have put 50 on us. Dragons won't make the 8.

Also it's hard to believe C9 go from one of the greatest game callers in Rabs, to that useless nuffy they have now, listening to his commentary is torture. He is the least knowledgeable commentator ever and you can tell he always goes for one team over another. He can't hide his bias when he calls. I'd rather listen to the Fox callers than him.

Channel 9 need to go and get Warren Smith from Fox. He is so easy to listen to and he has exceptional game knowledge. But he doesn’t go out of his way to be front and centre.

Toohey said KPP has been offered 600k by Tigers and we refuse to match it.

So glad he's on 750k this year.
