Some of the worst attack you'll ever see today. Truly clueless from Mann and Pearce. Forward pack is one of the best in the league but Pearce is unfortunately a total spud right now. I can't believe a guy with that many games under his belt can look so clueless for so long. He's not even close to turning it around.

Won't happen but if we're fair dinkum, Pearce doesn't run out for us next game. He has become a liability. Crosslands and Hoy may not be proven yet but imo its better than having a player who has proven to be total junk. We're going to make the finals so we can afford to take a risk. There's no point limping into the finals only to be blasted out in week one without a whimper. Feel sorry for our pack tbh.

You can't be serious.

I've been critical of Pearce and he was average today, but you don't drop him and go with 2 rookies in the halves when we're finals bound.

Terrible for the team and Crossland/Hoy's development. Either need a senior option to partner them otherwise you're putting too much pressure on them.

I know it isn't a great option but I'm just so disappointed in him. 2 rookies simply couldn't offer less at this point.

Yeah Pearce is in a rut but it would be the height of idiocy to head into the finals without an experienced half. The other teams in the 8 would have Crossland and Hoy for breakfast.

If I were coach I’d be booking Pearce in with a shrink, preferably the one that spoke to him just before we went on our 2019 run. I’m still convinced it’s all in his head, he looked quite angst-ridden on the TV today.

Point taken but isn't it the epitome of stupidity to flog a dead horse?

Pearce looks cooked.

Long term I’d question whether we persist with Pearce, definitely. But you don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, especially since we’re finals bound right now.

Realistically we’re no chance of winning the premiership this year anyway, the best I’m hoping for is a week one finals win at home. We’re not going to win a premiership with Kurt Mann at hooker lol, look at the top 4 they have names like Smith, Mahoney and Koroisau.

Our best hope is next year when we can hopefully enjoy a stable spine for an extended period of time with no goddamn injuries. It would be nice if we could have a spine of Ponga, Green, Pearce and Brailey with Watson coming off the bench for most of the season.

If Pearce continues to sh*t the bed in a stable spine with experience around him, you f*ck him off then. Not when the alternative is a Ponga, Hoy, Crossland and Mann spine for the finals.

yeh there were a number of those passes that werent in the sweet spot

happens to every player, he may be coming to the end of his run as a player.

From the stats its clear our forwards are putting in and carrying the team forward. Our game management direction, attacking structure and kicking game is severely lacking

The same issues we are having with the million dollar half were the same issues his previous club had year after year. The Roosters get some troops back at finals time and it is a very good chance they win 3 comps in a row since punting Pearce. I mean, 2 comps in a row was unbelievable and totally justified Robbo's stance.

Pearce had every possible advantage at Easts - great pack, big quick backs, outstanding coaching.

What we see now should be no surprise to anyone. It is what it is, no matter the troops in the squad.

I'm happy for his slump to continue as long as he conjures something when the semis start. Give him s freshen up if needed. A week off here and there. Something.

"Cooper's a big game player, knows how to get the job done," he said.

"I think that's what Mitch has probably lacked over his career - how to close out big games.

"The best players know how to do that, especially when you're under fatigue and when your backs are against the wall.

"He could have learned a lot off Cooper but he thinks he's best elsewhere."

Crossland looked better than Mann at 9 but that means having Mann at 5/8 which is a greater evil. Very interesting to see what the coach goes with next week.

I think Mann has more minutes in him at 9 than Crossland, and Crossland would be a better 5/8 for Pearce.

Hoy would be ideal on the bench to relieve Mann and in case any of the backline went down.
