Good to get the win, but that was bloody ugly, hopefully Crossland in the 6 during the week, hopefully in the off season we can have an attack coaching focus, sort of how the panthers turned it around this year.

Green was brought in to bring calmness and direction to the halves, we have nobody else that can step in to fill that role.

Random thoughts on today;

We started strong but lacked polish
Perhaps losing Green through us off more than we'd like to admit?
I would like to see our 5/8th do more end of set attacking kicks next week
I thought all of our forwards were exceptional today and did their jobs.
Continue to love Tuala
Not that the Cowboys offered too much but our defence was quite strong. I don't know the numbers but I reckon our missed tackle count would probably be a season low for this game?
Ponga is coming into his own and at just the right time and with room for improvement
I would like a new goal kicker, these points we're missing out on will be a factor in the finals

Maybe half a thought to bringing back Lino for goalkicking?
I suggested this a number of weeks ago but was told he is on the outer? I thought Lino was fantastic in the 9s and had some hope for him this year. But he seems to be last resort now?

Was about to same, Lino a possibility but would like Mann at 9, Crossland 6, with Randall, Hoy or Lino at 14.
That was a very ordinary game, maybe poor is a better word

Agree with all of this except I think we lacked intent. Half breaks had no one in support, our kick chase slow. The Cowboys did everything to hand us that game and we refused to take it.......I'm very thankful we didnt play a good team today.

In any case we won. Hopefully they can recover from the loss of Green, I really hope AOB puts Crosslands at 5/8 it's his time to show us what he's got and stick his hand up for the job next year.

So lads, just finished watching the reserve grade. When do our firsts play today?

That was hard to watch. Death by a thousand cuts. I feel worse than when we lose... Some positives though. How good is our forward pack? Can do no wrong and we still have Dan to come back. Barnett is built to play Origin if you ask me. Has a bit of Cordner about him and should be our captain. Klemmer has been a godsend. Jacob was great and even Fitzy did alright considering he played left centre for half the match.

Ponga is class. Needs to be getting the ball from a Cronk or DCE. Real unfortunate that Pearce and Mann just can't get him that quick ball. SHIBA has been as bad as Tuala has been good.

How bad were Pearce and Mann today. Couldn't buy a try assist or line break assist. Crossland is a great defender for a smaller bloke. Hopefully gets more ball on attack. I just want to see him kick because it literally can't be worse than Pearce.

Klemmer's grubber was nice. Such a soft touch for a man mountain.

Glad to win and glad to keep the opposition to 0. Twice in a year, when was the last time we did that??

Yeah Lino seems to have had his papers marked. And I was critical of his D last year so can see why. He is obviously not going to be re-signed either.

Just feels like a two-birds-one-stone opportunity. I don’t feel like O’Brien really wants Crossland playing 80 right now either (could be wrong).

Tbh Yosh I’d much rather have Barnett in my team than bum chin. You’re doing a disservice to Barny there.

Lino’s lack of defence is more important than what he provides in attack.

Last year we were a poor defensive unit as a whole and Lino got exposed a bit. We're a much better defensive unit this year.

I think it's worth considering Lino again as he can organise and is a quality goalkicker.
