For those there, how was the crowd reaction to the team being announced at the ground, more particularly after last week, how was the reaction to AOB's name?

Crowd must not know rugby league.

Man I must have watched a different game. I thought Hastings showed he's easily the best 7 to have played for us this year.
Hastings has a good footy brain. His body isn’t up to it. He had a few half chances running but couldn’t quite bust the tackle. If it weren’t for the other issues with him, I would pick Hastings over Cogger, but not over Gamble.

I think he’s the smartest 7 we have but he’s just so slow even if he sees something, by the time he’s able to get the ball where it needs to go the defence smothers it.

He often also goes for the selfish play (which is was sort of expecting tonight given he needs a contract somewhere).

He’s not alone as a lot of the same issues also apply to Brailey and Cogger. I know we don’t have much else but I’m so ready to see the back of all of them. It makes me feel a bit sick that we’re spending over 1.5mil per year on 3 players that struggle as backups.

edit: might just be me, but I thought Crossland did really well at lock. Maybe that’s his best position?

Hopefully this shuts up the people who think Hastings not being picked is some kind of conspiracy. He’s just so slow and prioritised going for the personal highlight reel plays rather than what was best for the team.
I don’t blame the players not wanting to play with him tbh. I agree, he plays for himself and isn’t a team player

AOB saying Best, Gamble and maybe Jacob possibly available next week. Add Dom if he has signed.

That’s disappointing Sharpe’s still out. I would have thought given he was so close to playing this week he might be ok next week.

We obviously have no hope of beating the Phins anyway but need the first choice team to play as much together as possible to try and improve the attack for next year. Not going to happen when we have new players out every week.

I wonder if Ponha will back up.
We needed him or Sharpe to take advantage of the opportunities we had out wide and missed tonight. Both would be great.
Sharpe and Friz both listed in casually ward for Round 16.

He was, besides the stupid, selfish hit-ups he did. But yes our shape was way better (before we put it away) having another half in Hastings there.

We had ample opportunity to win tonight. The young fellas can hold their heads up high. Not their doing. They would not be stepping outside the game plan.
Gags might be starting to show why the club has not rushed to re-sign him. He has some serious defensive issues right now. Falling off tackles. Clearly Robbo zeroed in on this and went at him. Hunt is raw but he looks to be something special in the making.

Hard to be mad at them this week. Had a real dig but as usual offered very little in attack. Brailey is trying but his decision making has regressed, I don't know if I've ever seen those little grubbers of his work. Hastings is indeed our most natural looking half but is shot physically. Combine him with an athlete like Sharpe and it wouldn't be so bad but between him and Cogger there's very little running threat.

We got dudded on the Wong try as well. They spent longer looking at the Hunt/Tedesco contest afterwards than they did looking at that putdown. Frustrating but I guess harder to complain when you only score 1 try with all that ball.

Overall the team has at least played with spirit 2 weeks in a row. Get some troops back and they might even win a few more.

Yeah, realistically having one of Ponga or Sharpe would have made a difference last night. Even just Best probably would have been the difference.

If he comes through unscathed I think Ponga will back up. The team also playing in Perth will be in his favour. If he had to travel back I think it would be unlikely.

Eh, I think this is just latent cogger hate.

He was ok in the first 15 minutes, had a nice play to put KPP in a hole who almost scored.

After that he spent the rest of the night sliding across the field running gagai out of space and forcing him back underneath, or running the ball himself for absolutely no gain.
