Tigers fans hyped them up. The media ran with it after.

The big 4 lol

Apart from Woods playing rep footy, none of them at the time had acheived anything. Tedesco was probably the expection though based on raw talent.

And still, what have Woods & Moses achieved since they left us. Not much in reality.

I know there is not much difference between them at this stage but I would much rather see Lawrence in the team than bloody penalty merchant Elijah Taylor.

Did you see some of ET's tackles last week. I reckon technically he is a great player. He just lacks the size or speed or zip to be an actual great player.

If you like an anytime tryscorer bet Ladbrokes have some very generous odds about Penrith players tonight.

I've taken a liking to Crichton to score a try @$2 (he's $1.60 in other markets) and Yeo $4.50 ($3.00 elsewhere)

They are going to run at Benji all night is my prediction. If he doesn't bring his shoulder it will get ugly. Both Crichton and Yeo will see plenty of ball.

Penrith remind me of our 2005 side. They are made up of some exciting young talent, some journeymen and play a very attractive style of football. Hate Cleary senior with a passion but would rather Riff win the comp than any of the other candidates, they at least developed their own talent. How many in their roster have come through their system, probably double any other side barring maybe the Bronks

Anyway we will have a dig tonight and with Grant back we might even be in the contest at oranges, but class will prevail and they will win by a healthy margin

Cleary is complaining about “do Canterbury have the right to claim the most consecutive wins record when they did it during the time they lost points or whatever it was

Would any other proven coach make these comments or would they be above that and say something like. ”look we obviously would be honoured to claim the record however it isn’t a priority for us. We just want to keep playing our brand of footy that we think works and if we happen to collect records along the way then that’s a bonus”...otherwise it sounds like he’s desperate to get the record which isn’t a good look or a good idea

Or...For me it’s making him look like he thinks he can come out with stuff because he’s one of the best coaches now before he can claim that status..which takes years of consistent success. But even the best coaches I don’t think would go there...

He’s tempting fate isn’t he and maybe getting ahead of himself.....Id hate to see a Seibold 2 if the wheels fall off for whatever reason..

Plus he’s just placed a whole heap of extra pressure on his team to get that record now that he has put the spotlight on it..Great or even good coaches wouldn’t do that..Would they?

He was really good in the last 10 mins V the dogs. But honestly in our pack he is a waste. Put him at 13 in the storm or roosters and he’d be valuable, but he is on a bench of him, McIntyre, Blore and Liddle FFS. As much as I don’t rate any of them Packer, Clarke or Seyfarth needed to come in once Aloiai went down.

He is a very good tackler, but he gets caught out so often racing in trying to be the third man in tackles (I guess that was the play for his whole career) and then doesn’t make it back to the line in time which often leads to the other team making big metres in the middle.

Add to that he is always pushing the limit of the ref and gives away set restarts all the time and the fact he offers nothing in attack and I don’t reckon he adds enough to be in the team

Was Packer injured or dropped?

Ohh and little known fact. Ivan Cleary shares the same manager as Josh Reynolds, Moses Mbye, Elijah Taylor, Russell Packer and Ben Matulino. Not dodgy at all cough cough kick backs

Even without the kickbacks it opens the door to the possibility that Cleary was looking at leaving near the start of his tenure..surely he wouldn’t stake his chances of success after such a long time moping around at home unemployed by just recruiting his managers client list and ignoring real stars that could be available with a war chest to spend..even he would have known the risk he was setting the WT up for but didn’t care?? One would hope not.

But that is deadly info..
