I blame our loss today on Madge...Our players are all too comfortable in their positions..No one is playing out of their skins for their position...On top of that Madge made probably the biggest positional call of the season when the team had breathing space by picking Momo instead of Talau ...And when they went left toward the end and Momo was bundled over the line you could see Madge going why did I pick him ..we need courage from the coach...this will create courage and an injection of life to the team.....the team is rusting over from lack of movement ..It’s like Madge is frozen in the headlights..

We really need to pick up the phone and ask Adam Reynolds his price. Yeah, he is contracted for another two years but for the right amount anything can happen

Thompson
Brooks
A Reynolds
Liddle

Wow

I’d be happy with J Reynolds injury free. If I was to chase an NRL 5/8 I’d have a look at Jack Wighton, he is very skilfull, hits like a freight train, tough as an old boot. The other player I think playing 5/8 who is coming along nicely, but I think would be a better half, is Cade Cust at Manly. He lacks a little consistency ATM but there’s is something about him.

You have to change a losing team...

I thought Nofo had his best game in a while, except for one instance where he had no choice he played a lot straighter tonight, and looked like he was really having a dig. Good to see.

J Reynolds has been told, I doubt Maguire wants him around.

No more waiting. We need a proven half back to steer this team around. Push Brooks to 5/8, Liddle comes in and a proven half back. It has to happen.

I agree he is done at the Tigers, too much of a risk now with injuries. Brooks is half back and it’s his best spot. Looked good today playing both sides. Controlled the attack reasonably well i thought. The problem is having rubbish outside him, although I thought we were pretty reasonable when things came together for us, a gun centre and full back would be awesome.

I lost count of the number of passes that Farah threw from dummy half that were caught above the head

Edit

I made note of it at the time in the game day thread but there was one instance there where Liddle got the sh*ts with Farah because he had had enough of Farah pushing his way in to dummy half.
I saw that as well. Its beyond a joke to think that Farah and Marshall can decide whether they play again next season. We are losing regularly and these guys are in key positions.

I really hope his frustration doesnt make LIddle go elsewhere. He has a lot of promise IMO

Exactly right.

Cameron Smith, love him or hate him, has earned the right to keep playing because he is a big part of his team’s success. As much as Marshall and Farah have spilled their blood and guts for us, sadly the results aren’t there.

Disagree. He's had injuries yes. However is on a long term contract and to move him on will require that WT pay a large % of his freight to play elsewhere. That is the equivalent of a salary cap fine! Clubs that pay players to go elsewhere do not prosper.

If Reynolds does leave it would have to be to another club with a highly paid underperformer who we could take in exhange. Gold Coast have a few of them but no other clubs come to mind.

05 was a great moment but that season aside it must be said that Farah, Marshall and Lawrence lead a losing culture.

You make a great point with Cam Smith. On the night of his 400th, so many players were saying 'with Cam on your team you think youre never going to lose, just having him there gives you confidence."

The reverse applies with Farah and Marshall who rarely play September football. 3 times in 17 year careers

I suggest every one of us watch this and hope this isn’t just talk

https://www.weststigers.com.au/news...aguire-determined-to-see-change-after-defeat/

He sounded pretty pissed. If we don't blow the Knights away for Farah's 300th, I reckon there will be wholesale changes and all this talk of Marshall and Farah playing on will be shelved. The next few weeks will decide whether they walk out on to Leichhardt Oval against the Sharks wearing jerseys or wearing suits.

If he was uninjured you’d be glad to have him. The reality is he has been told to look elsewhere, he is done!

Cap issues don’t seem to be an issue with Maguire, he obviously has a plan and it doesn’t appear to involve J Reynolds, I suspect because he can’t string any number of games together without being injured.

He's probably having regrets he didnt take the Manly job. The Trbojevic boys could make anyone look good.

You might be right. It's not just the Turbos, Manly have a great side and they belong in the top 8. Any halfway decent coach should be able to get them to the finals and the fact that Barrett couldn't do it last year shows he doesn't have it as a coach.

That was awesome, its what they need but being a bunch of Prima donnas he’ll have probably ‘lost the dressing room’ by the end of next week.

Are we really? Even a fan like me of these two didnt think they would play much this year. Our succession players arent doing anything worth a shit. The fact that most fans and commentators outside the club see these two as our best at this stage of their careers speaks volumes about our roster.

We aren’t exactly going to broadcast our long term plans.

Club planning is usually 2 or 3 years ahead and given the average nrl career is only a few years, the side that runs out in round 1 in 2021 won’t bear too much resemblance to what we have now.

I am sure the axe is ready to fall on a number of our players. Madge is ruthless and he believes in strength across a squad.

At the moment he’s still trying to make ivan’s team work and we have $3m+ smoking weed in Reggie’s.

Most fans and commentators, we are kept in the dark, except for the odd self serving club nonsense or slip up.

It was always going to be a troubled year.

He talked tonight about young players pushing. If we lose another game, we will be blooding.
