When we lost earlier in the year to this mob we had a false sense of hope after flogging Manly and Warriors. I didn't think we could look any more flat/lethargic in that game

I think we lost to the Dogs after beating Saints and Rabbits back to back last year aswell, and being at the game you could feel we would struggle after the first 10 minutes

If we don't play hard and fast like we have been doing the last few weeks an ambush will probably be on the cards again

I think the Dogs winning has 3 big positives for us.
Number one - beating the panthers, which helps hugely on the ladder.
Number two - they were very much due a win and have been highly competitive over the past 6 or so weeks as a few of you have alluded to.
Number three - highlights to the Tigs not to take this game lightly and to stay focused for the full 80.
I’m not as confident for a win this week as last week v the Cows, however I think this is history telling me not to get my hopes up. Still maintain though, focus, energy and attitude are endured for the 80, we win

I think we have every right to consider this a complete walkover and a chance for some decent for and against bonus.

Look at their halves and their hooker. These are people who are supposed to fondle the ball hundreds of times a game.

They had their grand final last week, they are, with sincere respect....

I reckon just about every team in the comp thinks that about us too

NRL is too hard to consider any game a certainty

I’m sorry, but we will smash them into the next world.

Our game last week was a statement to the rest of the nrl that we have the capability to destroy the most powerful of packs.

Brooks is semi elite and Benji is playing like a man possessed.

There’s a finals feel to our unfancied dark horse side, being exceptionally well coached at the moment. Flying Low under the radar,

I reckon their team isn't that bad. Cogger and Lewis in the halves might be young but they can play. DWZ at the back is a weapon. Their pack is pretty good as well.

U r overly optimistic. We always beat the cows at the 8th wonder. That game was no guage as to whether we r finals bound albeit I so hope that we do qualify for the 8.

Brooks has had some very good performances this season but elite & Brooks is a paradox. He isn’t elite or semi elite for that matter. When he can consistently stamp his own mark on wins against top heavy teams & is instrumental in us winning finals only then should he b considered as being an elite player.

Re coaching yes we certainly are extremely well coached by the clubs greatest asset in Madge.

As we r sitting in 8th spot with only 5 games remaining we r no longer flying low under the radar.

I liked our line speed last week and hopefully that will be the norm for the rest of the year, our attack although improving will be tested against the better teams.

The cows pack remains a highly regarded unit in the nrl but we were simply toying with them at times last week.

I think Brooks is semi elite on the basis of his consistency in performance. He rarely has a bad game. Even when the team is flopping about, Brooks stays solid.

The strength of our coaching this year is there for all to see, mainly in the commitment of the players to get into the struggle. They don’t always get there, but on the whole, it’s a tick more than a cross. They have a better mindset, they are more patient.

To go on with the game against the cows was very pleasing and constructive.

I think we have to put the dogs in perspective and recognise they have a few years to go and some key signings to make before they can compete properly. The cycle of league as we know it. Only a few clubs seem to defy it.I actually think Pay is fair coach for the rotten cards he has been dealt with and the people I know who know him personally speak highly of his character.

Another thing is that Madge turned down offers from other clubs as he thought he could tweak and mould us into a competitive side. Thus we have ironed out a lot of troubling issues in the last 3 or 4 weeks.

I submit that the brave dogsters won’t know what hit them. I am not afraid or worried about this game. I risk being humiliated, but so be it.

Caution to the wind!

We are stronger, faster, harder, more creative and play with a lot more intent. After that, we have much better players who seem very determined to have a go.

Let’s dare to dream for once!

By that reasoning the Turd wasn't an elite level player. This is the problem I have with how harshly Brooks is judged.

Brooks is clearly a gun half in this comp. He needs to be more consistent but that is about it.

I dream about a lot of things that don't come true. The way I see it we either win enough games or we don't. Our dreams are irrelevant.

I dream about things that do come true!

I have had some very big breaks in life in very serious and grave circumstances.

Facts are fine, but so is inspiration and hope.

Fora team coming second last, the Dogs have been playing good football. They lack class but have been putting in plenty of effort.

We should win, but I think it will be close. Our spine should make the difference. In our round three clash, Foran had a blinder targeting our left edge. Now no Foran and our edge defence has improved out of sight.

Also history tells me every year the Dogs win one and we win one...so it’s our turn

I will also risk my credibility and suggest that our run on side will be markedly different than our official listing.

This is a ploy to confuse them.

I like and respect the 2019 dogs. They just don’t have the vibe to meet us.

Where I am wrong, I will need to suffer a penalty and I will think of something appropriate apart from uppercuts and too much self loathing. Perhaps warn myself off lu for a week, except for criticism of ivan Cleary which is an essential service and exempted from strike action.

But I’m not going to flop about if I get bashed up by a willing dogs side. I will man up and take responsibility.

. Yip yip ...

.
. Yip yip. Anything is possible over the next 5 or more weeks...including Brooke’s achieving the above.Im sure he dreams of achieving it. He’s got the foundation now..He just has to take that next step and nail it coz he’s already played it out in his mind over and over. For some reason we have stepped up to another level the last two games. Robbie said the theme for the last two weeks has been effort..The result is they are tormenting the opposition with speed of play, less mistakes, better defence, hitting the line harder, beautifully executed kicks more times than not. Each player can hit new levels we havnt seen before in this improving and winning environment.... including Brooks and Thompson ...The players will settle our arguments themselves for better or worse over the next 5 or more games...They are humming and really enjoying playing together now more than before but I think not taking anything for granted. We have had too many heart breaks and close shaves for that...

I had me thinking that we have had an extended week off, almost 9 days to recover and freshen up.

The rugby league body is a delicate specimen.

There is not a single player in the nrl without some kind of injury or niggle.

The cool and soothing nourishment of Father Time is busy healing all cuts and bruises, opening the airwaves, and rebuilding our tired and battered bodies.

Players know that at their elite level, even a few extra hours of recovery can make the world of difference.

Moreso, we have used the extra time on the battle ground of the game plan. Extra time to assess each opponent and likely scenario.

Coaches are time poor. They spend 14-16 hrs a day on the next assignment and Madge and his competent staff would have relished and used the extra time in deep concentrated focus.

Yet another argument for the thrashing we are are about to mete out.
