I don't dislike Brooks, as a person he is probably a nice enough young man, but his football ability to lead a team about is virtually zero, which installs little faith for our future looking up while he is the 7, hopefully for the WT sake ,he proves me wrong, if he is persisted with.
As sure as night follows day the oxygen thief no. 7 won’t be proving u wrong

High stakes for Brooksy this weekend, but I’d say in the back of his mind, he realises he has to perform under the pressure.

The fans have left him, now it seems the club is finally second guessing him. Of course it’s taken Tim a year to realise what Madge already knew in 2021.

As I consider myself as balanced as @Everlovin' Antichrist, I’d have to submit he’s but one of many in the squad underachieving.

I suppose if Tim can cut the most entitled, overpaid and glorified player in the club, no other player is safe.

Wakehams selection is astute on many levels.

Up against his old club, told he wasn’t part of the Gus Gould Grinder forum. I wish him the best of games.

I might also join with @Vic Mackey and say that I expect a better performance this weekend, because everyone has every reason to perform.

Also by Tims own admission, is the third of the four games he has given the side to click.

Winning aside, if we don’t play well, if it’s not close, we are in it deep.

Plus I don’t fancy the dogs forwards. They are close, but…

I don’t like Brooks personally either.. Just coz he’s short and cute looking doesn’t mean he’s not the devil…It wouldn’t be hard for him to be intimidated by AD tho I think ..A different dynamic with wakeham starting and AD injured hopefully

Maybe too after beating the storm at Melbourne, you can expect the dogs to feel pretty confident about their prospects.

Big sell out crowd at home and large numbers of dogs fans looking forward to the easy kill.

On the face value, I think they are under a lot more pressure than us and hopefully that makes them more anxious.

I felt Tim was beyond furious with the side in the last press conference, but his words were masking this.

I hope Doogie can find some form and we add a lot more chaos and variety in attack.

Tigers team: 1. Charlie Staines 2. David Nofoaluma 3. Brent Naden 4. Starford To’a 5. Junior Tupou 6. Adam Doueihi 7. Luke Brooks 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. David Klemmer 11. Asu Kepaoa 12. Shawn Blore 13. Fonua Pole 14. Brandon Wakeham 15. Alex Twal 16. Joe Ofahengaue 17. Brandon Tumeth 18. Justin Matamua 19. Alex Seyfarth 20. John Bateman 21. Ruatapu Ngatikaura 22. Jahream Bula

Players cut:

Late mail:Adam Doueihi and John Bateman are “more than a 50 per cent chance” of suiting up to play the Bulldogs after training with the starting side. Nine’s Emma Lawrence reports Tigers coach Tim Sheens will make the final call on Sunday morning. It comes after both sat out training earlier in the week. Bulldogs’ general manger of football, Phil Gould believes Bateman will be parachuted into the 17 come Sunday after being named in the extended squad. “Why would you name him if you weren’t going to play him? I fully expect that he will play this weekend,” he said onSix Tackles with Gus. “I can only assume because they’ve named him, he will play, and if he plays he will be ready. He’s an international-class forward so they would love to be playing him.” It’s the latest development in an ongoing saga surrounding Bateman’s availability. The Tigers have been adamant he is acclimatising while there has been speculation the England international has been recovering from injury/

I think the Wakeham selection has been made to put a bullet up the halves asses. If it was to purely replace Simpkin, surely Rua would have come in....unless Rua is on some development contract.
You need to ask yourself if Wakeham would be picked if Simpkin was available?

Simpkin as a hooker yes but Brooks has been playing hooker as a second position and maybe someone in the box can see that Brooks is prob the biggest liability and we have to have the option of swapping him with wakeham if it continues …Halfback is our biggest problem.. Skill wise AD comes and gos but Brooks is never coming back

Bateman and Junior playing, we are looking a lot better now.

Bateman should be right in amongst it, apart from the heat, it’s his kind of game.

If Brooksy is outplayed by Flanagan, there’s no such thing as the footy Gods.

Big game from nofo, Charlie and starford needed.

We are loaded up with forwards, good game for Klem to stamp his authority on their suspect pack.

But they have some strike we need to contain.

The eels are struggling without Mahoney.

I put a lot of that down to Emma. She just puts all those other goofballs to shame with her professionalism.

My favourite moment of her's was when she interviewed her brother straight after fulltime....he gave straight answers to a few good questions about the game and was then asked....with a straight face his thoughts on the imminent arrival of ( I think it was) Gareth Ellis and if he'd given much thought at all to playing reserve grade next season then put the mic straight under his chin....Chris was totally dumbstruck for an answer...funny stuff

Tigers will get a big score put on them today and don’t look likely to score any points if they dish up the same shit as last week, the attack in the oppositions 20 was atrocious, not once did they show any sort of attacking shape, just did not threaten, no lines being run absolute rubbish.

I think we could benefit by putting on our attacking plays on (if we have any) from about 40 metres out from the opposition try line. You're right Pezz. When we are attacking from the red zone we're easier to read than a little golden book. Further out it would be less expected and there's more margin for error if we put a kick along the ground.

If we can't win this we must at least put in a competent display. It's gonna be brutally hot at kick off. Not sure who this favours. We did play well there in the trial against the raiders on a very hot day.

We probably shouldn’t play footy on boiling days like this.

It’s just a matter of time before a player collapses and possibly dies.

It was still 27 degrees at 9pm last night.
