Was Nofo hooked? Sheens bristled about the question?

Maybe he has seen the light on a few of the players?
Fittler or Johns commented that it was strange to take a winger off when Wakeham came on and they did the shuffle but there was a kick to the corner and when Nofo came down from contesting the ball he started waving. Not sure if he was waving to players, the sideline or his mum in the stand but the next thing he was off. Maybe heartlidge, which would also be AD's problem.

There isn’t a positive coming out of that game
Well, I'm positively convinced that,
Bateman was outstanding,
AD offers nothing,
To'a can not be in 1st grade,
Klemmer is better off starting from the bench,
Marshall, if he's the backs coach, should give it away for not insisting that the backs stand deeper,
Sheens, if he's the coach, should rethink how he plays young Utoikamanu, flat footed and a three step run-up, WTF?The guy should be like the other boom islanders, imagine him running 1 or 2 off the ruck with speed and size.

Don’t be celebrating that last 15 minutes, the Dogs had switched off. The fact is that the Tigers were never in the match. 26-6 down. They are playing appalling footy. There isn’t a positive coming out of that game
Pretty much after every game last year Madge would say we played well in parts. Those parts were when the other team got overconfident that they had the game in the bag. The Tigers made some kind of come back, the opposition decide to be serious and do enough to win the game. Just like yesterday's game and just like plenty more games to come this season.

I'm not actually as filthy as I was last week from that game. My motto in life is always to be positive if you can find a constructive solution from failure.

Those last 20 minutes when Wakeham came on completely changed everything. Removing Doeuihi from the playmaking decisions and forcing Brooks to just run the ball improved our attack almost immediately. Api and Wakeham seemed to gel quite well, whereas I'm not seeing that from Brooks or AD. Even after the shift in FB, I still think Staines performed better than AD. He's not a world beater but he was very safe and wasn't afraid to take a dirty hit up.

If we don't run out with Staines/Brookes/Wakeham/Api as out starting spine then we clearly aren't learning anything
So true.

I would have Wakeham 7 Brooks 6 AD in the centers and when Tommy Talau returns put him in the forwards. Talau is big and strong enough and adding speed to the forwards could be exciting especially if he knows what to expect fro Api.

Doueihi went OK for the first year or so here - the good usually outweighed the bad - but he has regressed at an alarming rate. Simply too many holes in his game to start in any position. Too slow for the backs, too poor a defender for the forwards and decision making too shit for the halves.

Biggest issue with this club is how players consistently get worse the longer they are here. Api, Bateman, Naden may look good at the moment, but give it a couple of years for the loser culture to take hold of them too.

AD was, as everyone could see, absolutely awful. However, Sheens said in the presser that Wakeham and Brooks had been training all week as the halves as AD was injured. So why did Sheens play AD at all? We looked much more lethal when Wakeham came on. Whether the Dogs had clocked off or whatever, for about five minutes we actually looked promising with the ball.

Bateman is a champ. He's gonna be great for us.

Nof - what a fall from grace. I don't think we'll be seeing much of him anymore. Which is a pity because a couple of years back he seemed to actually be one of the only ones putting in for the club, despite the occasional defensive brain explosions.

It's textbook Tigers yet again. One step forward, five steps back. Don't be surprised if Naden and/or Klemmer get cited by the judiciary too.

You’re the gronk who said Bateman wouldn’t play until after Anzac Day.

You try playing outside Brooksy and see what it does to your game buster.

I never said Doogie was Gods gift. I said he was factory.
Douehi doesn't really play outside Brooks. More often than not Brooks is on the left and Douehi on the right. The problem is neither is a good enough "ball player".

I think Bateman is the obvious captain in that side. Has a personality to lead the boys into battle. I’d love to have another decent pommy forward in the side, they may not be the best footballers but they generally come with a bit of mongrel, something a lot of the new age Nancy’s don’t have. Now I’m not having a go at Kepaoa, he was ok, but he was soft in the backs and he ain’t gonna add any starch to that pack. Need a couple of old school coal miners sons. It’s a different game and there’s no doubting these guys are physically superior but they just don’t seem to have that mental fortitude. They don’t make them like they used to

performance was better but I think this game could be the start of a clean out we need. If Daino must come back in next week I’d like to see

1. Laurie
2. Kenny
3. Naden
4. Talau
5. Staines
6. Brooks
7. Wakeham

14 Douehi

a few of these blokes would be on last chance as well. I’d be looking at a big powerful fullback for next season as well as a playmaker. I think Laurie, Nofo, Douehi & Brooks should all be told to look for other clubs in order to bring these two players in. Our pack is starting to come together more, once we can sort halves for the back towers to run off and Bateman and Api get some match fitness we will be competitive in that department.

Bateman is surprisingly small in comparison to the other players in the players in the Tigers pack, but what he has is the ability to read what's going on and some f**king initiative.

Kepoa will be shifted to 2-man once Papali'i is back so he and Bateman are obvious edge forwards.

The big issue is the halves. I'm saying it now, a different halves combo and this tigers team wins the first 3 games. Against GC they had 7 consecutive minutes of ball, forwards doing their job, and all they came away with was 2 points. GC were high-fiving each other right there.

Against Newcastle, they looked aimless with considerable amount of goodball.

Against Canterbury, Douehi threw 2 intercepts because he can't read the play and change on the fly. There is zero communication from the halves and zero bodies in motion because the other players don't know what's going on.

Re: the halves, it just shits me, that nearly everyone can see this, except the coaching staff and have done so for a f**king decade.

I would find a spot for Doohee in the 17, but Brooks is done, though. A $1m will get you a decent player in whatever position we need.

I gave up after conceding that first try within 5 minutes and had a much more enjoyable sunday arvo. Seems like the change in the halves made a bit of a difference so I will give that a chance this week, but if Brooks and AD are named again I will put in as much effort as the team and not bother.

Brooks is a 6. A capable 7 running the show and he might be different.

Wakeham is the only option at 7. There is absolutely nothing else in the top 30.

I guess we will agree to disagree re Brooks in the top 17.

But agree Wakeman is worth a go. They gotta do something?
