Im thinking the halves smorgasbord we are serving up means Benji is thinking speed and mobility.

Galvin is still fresh, but he’s not fill-in or makeshift. Sezer the same.

Our edges will need to be operational, lots of traffic coming.

This game has me worried. At the very least we should be in this right up util the death.

This is the type of game that historically, we just turn don't up for and expect the hard work will do itself.

If we can win this we have the Dolphins next week for a potentially huge 3 straight wins.

This wouldn't matter to most other supporters but we haven't achieved this for 6 years. It would be great to get that off our backs.
They are a good side, but I think Moses is a proper old school game manager and they will miss his guidance and composure.

My favourite eel in their side is Paulo by a fair margin. Powerful and hard to contain.

Maybe a small hint of panic, but sanity prevailed.

So why did your club fight so hard to keep them, then?
The serious answer is quite simple, weren’t prepared to overpay for their actual worth. Same reason that Mahoney and Kaufusi were moved on, can’t always agree with losing players you like, but there is an actual worth. Maybe they should be prepared to pay more for an elite player but the trick is not to overpay if you have close to similar available .

Been through similar when getting Corey Norman and others
6/7 years ago, not a long term winning formula.

OK, that’s not my memory of how things transpired, but you were closer to it than me.

Doesn’t sound like he was.

Stef was spotted and signed under he eels noses by Harto when it became apparent that he was way too good for their Reggie’s. So Arthur and the eels punished him for an entire season.

Now, I’d describe him as sub-elite and plenty of years left to add power. Recent rumours, well he wants to stay. He has some work to do on his game. Most players do.

Paps, I think Madge wanted him based on his form at the eels and once again they messed up their roster

Im not sure he has realised his potential since his arrival, but he wouldn’t be alone.

I think this is a special kind of match for the ex eels guys.

Brad Arthur is controversial, I rate him as a coach tbh. Apparently a hard task master.

Think we may have different view, Stefano did pkay 3 games NRL when needed, and under contract. He got an offer of over$350k per season having never played above Reggie’s so can’t blame him, hadn’t really lived up to the hype, still decent though. Ice was purely money, and good luck to him taking it, still liked by the fans

Despite the way Tigpies fans carry on about Parra, there’s not the same animosity from that side. Rivalry is good, stupid hatred is unnecessary

that wasn’t your initial argument, you said they wouldn’t make your starting side which is fairly laughable.

Papalli absolutely left for money, at the time $600k didn’t seem that big to me, especially when NQ signed Luc from us for considerably more at the same time. You’ve also re-signing Matto on the same figure who is now a bench player and 4 years older then Ice. Pretty much the entire 2022 season was full of parra fans praying he would reneg. I have zero doubt come November 1 this year when he’s free to negotiate again parra will be first in line to talk to him

The Tigers are running with Bud on the bench instead of a reserve hooker.
Bud can slip into the dummy half role if Api needs a spell late.
My worry is Parra's strength is the big men and Bud isn't a classic middle defender and will need help.

Prediction: Pole to play aggressive and always on the ball. We need to be solid in the engine room.

THIS IS NOT A WOODEN SPOON SIDE!
That defensive effort was absolutely superb.
Play like this in the second half and we'll get back a lot of respect.
