Not sure who to blame atm prob need a second look...but usually when a bundle is dropped I think coach and captain first re motivation/direction at half time and on the field ..but I won’t go there right now.It was great watching a winning team in the first half and good to win it, much longer and may not have

Main problem is once in a lead like that they stopped building pressure. The intercept was a play not needed 10m out. It was a decoy play that confused the whole team. They probably could have just done 5 hit ups and crashed over at the time or roll it in. They scored the very next 2 sets from tackle restarts. By now they have momentum and our forwards around the ruck got gassed because of this. Then Reynolds on tackle 2 kicks it when again a few simple plays and keeping the ball down in their end is what was needed. They scored off the back of this.

Came down to bad game management once in a lead which tired the forwards which ment outwide there was overlaps. So one problem led to like 3 problems.

Agree, Re: the captain, one of his job on the field is to keep everyone focussed and stay with the game plan.

Good win. Grant is a star. Reynolds isn't very good. Brooks was pretty good. Aloiai was awesome.

Mbye was also very good. He cops it on here way too harshly. His defense is really good. He can also do some good things in attack if he gets some opportunities. He is overpaid but he can be a really good contributor to the team.

Meh it is very hard to lift for a 2nd half when you’re up 34-0, especially when you’re a team not used to winning

add to that losing Twal, playing multiple players out of positions etc. if it were to happen with 17 fully fit players I’d be concerned however under the circumstances I can cop that a bit more

I hear ya, but there is actually a lot of dead wood coming off contract this year. These are my random estimates of salary
Jennings - 250k
Eisenhuth - 200k
Lawrence - 250k
McQueen - 350k
Taylor - 500k
Benji (not dead wood but unlikely to play on) - 250k

I'm probably pretty off a bit but I think it's fair to say we will have freed up 2 million in salary cap + no more Farah penalty. Id obviously try and lock up Harry Grant, make a big play for James Tamou and Josh Addo Carr. If you then also include Stefano coming into the squad, and the possibility of Aiden Sezer we would have a really solid team.

The reason I'm saying James Tamou is because we need an experienced leader in the forwards, and his is the only name that stands out when I look through the list of fowards off-contract.
Benji = dead wood

Yip ..Reynolds timing was out and also he could have used the decoy better ala Benji by looking back at AD before he passed to McIntyre to create the indecision. Instead Drinkwater new exactly where it was going. That was a finesse play that required a player with more finesse..But yes on the 3rd tackle barge it up until the 5th and then kick for a repeat set/try

You don’t think with a bit more awareness Mbye could have waited until Feldt caught the ball and then held him up / pushed him out or both (with the help of Chee-Kam and Brookes) instead of just trying to catch the ball, for their second try in the corner?

And then in the lead up to their 3rd try all Mbye had to do was fall on the ball I mean literally fall on the ball and he muffs it the ball goes out ...their feed 10 m out from our line ...Feldt in the same corner...8 point try

McQueen - 350k
.

Geez forgot he was even still on the roster. How long did big chin sign him for. And he had a serious neck injury at the time.

This a very good point and with 3 players injured during the game it is difficult. Plus the Cows would have got a spray at half time and you would expect them to get back into the game a bit more.

But I just want to enjoy the win and look forward to next week.

Believe it or not he was a Taylor signing, we still haven’t finished clearing out the Taylor deadwood before even starting on the Ivan the Terrible deadwood

Very good summary + What Tigerm said

I said it in post #69,
I take away the interception, Feldt, reaching over Mybe (we need height) and the Marsters try which was a consolation try (IMO) and I’m happy, the defence was still pretty good.

You have been waiting for Reynolds to have a bad one haven’t you Tiger05.
Big difference between, “isn’t very good” and having a shocker or went missing.

He went missing,In the 2nd half, his 2nd worst game for the Tigers after the Parra thrashing last year. In saying that I still think he has a role to play in the side. Like the side itself he has to be consistently good, not good one day and crap the next. Last week I thought he had a great game. This week his second half was absolute poo.

And he owned it. Did you see how filthy he looked straight after the game? I’m glad we have players that care for once

The injury to Jennings really hurt our defensive structure, it raises questions about who should be the fourth spot on the bench. We need an outside back on the bench who can play, centres, fullback or wing. A bloke like Momorovski??

Chee Kam played centre but he looked out of place last night

Maybe I’m a bit harsh, his first half was pretty good to be fair, but I lost my shit when he put that kick through to no one on the third play of a set. That sort of stupidity kills me. Really low percentage footy especially given we were either down to 14 or 15 at that time, critical
You hold the ball for as long as possible and get to a repeat set or a scrum to slow stuff up
