Yes I thought the same, definitely an odd situation or a flaw in our game, some will argue you still have 13 on the park. Then when Pole got binned virtually for nothing the Sharks I believe player didn't do the HIA.
This head contact crackdown is getting out of hand and determining results and ruining the game.
Maybe players' heads need impact sensors implanted into their brains.

Yes and an unscrupulous team could get your best player taken off, and risk a lesser player going off (and no certainty) for 10 with 15 minutes left.

The reason Galvin has the shitesters is he's a predominantly left hand field player and is having a dummy spit.

Maybe. I don't know what is going on with Galvin and his family and manager. I don't understand all the hype on Galvin. Sure he is a decent runner of the footy but not great. His kicking game is all over the place. His ball playing isn't great.

Maybe he'll develop into a top tier player but he is miles off that level now.

Joey Johns adapted naturally at the highest level and could pass and play left and right and inside out.

I agree but he is also the best player I've ever seen.

If you can't be as effective on both sides of the field at the highest level then LG shouldn't be earning marquee money, in fact no half-five eight should be, it's absurd.

It's insane. Galvin has a decent running game, an average kicking and passing game with elite level fitness. He will get top dollar but it's all based on potential.

So he needs to develop a better kicking game, a better passing game and better game awareness. It might happen but it's a long way off.

If we end up staying with Latu, I bet you we resign AD to play outside of him. Don't shoot me but I called it last year remember and again in preseason and look what happened. :)

AD has been great compared to my expectations. There is no way I would have picked him but his defense has been good, his goal kicking won us the game against Cronulla and he even showed he has a bit of a running game against Cronulla.

I reckon Doueihi may get resigned and on the right dollars he is a decent buy but I reckon if we get another quality centre Doueihi will have to make way. That could be Makasini or May. Maybe To'a will be offered top dollar elsewhere and we let him go.

It'll be interesting seeing how this plays out.

I'm okay with the HIA because the players need to be protected however the Pole call was I think the worst individual call I've ever seen. There was no contact and they went and sin binned him well after the play just after we had defended our line again. They then score when we are down a player plus they got the ball when they didn't deserve it.

Crazy shit. The Tigers should make a complaint about that call.

I don't know if 9 has different coverage but on fox the shot on May was seen from the rear unless I'm mistaken. But from what I saw was a penalty maybe but not bin.

This has now been 2 weeks in a row that we've had a player sent to the bin for nothing. The hip drop that wasn't the week before.

No regrets.
AD'S kicking style is awesome. I like the way he drilled it not allowing the wind to stuff it up.
See, goal kicking can win games. Remember we talked about this hey. We both agreed how important it is to have a good kicker.

Makasini should be spoon fed like Luke Laulilii. Make cameos, get a feel for the game. We shouldn't rush these youngins and that's why, depending on $ and term, I reckon AD gets an extension.

Definitely do not disagree with your Galvin take except to say, I rate him, I would go so far as to say better than Laurie Daley at the same age (although Daley might have been playing centre at this point, getting old can’t remember). I think he has very similar traits to Daley and to an extent Fittler, his judgment still not 100% he probably gets it right 75-85% of the time, when he makes the right decision 90+%, which I think will come he will control footy games.

Good post. It's interesting. I think he has the ability to be a really good player. I don't think he is anywhere near Daley or Fittler's level though. Daley and Fittler had that ability to bust a team apart with their running game. I don't think Galvin will ever develop that elite level running game.

I think if he develops that footy nous he may ball play better, kick better and take the right option more often and he will develop into an elite level player. I think that is a long way off though and the amount he is after and the refusal to even consider a massive contract extension bizarre.
