roopy care to name a side from wat u saw? or wat u can lol

and there was nobody out from that trial except for the 20s players
If there had been a programme i'd have a go, but I could only put a name to maybe 6 of the guys i saw play.
That's the problem with trials - even if a guy is impressive as hell - you still don't know who he is till a comp game when they have programmes.

I definately saw some promising new guys though.

I think Shay Padburg will prove himself to be a real quality halfback in his last year in Ball - and Pat Mata'utia will be the star back - and Jeremy Maa is definately the forward coming up from Mathews to watch.

front rowers?

For what it's worth, i was very impressed with this kid in Mathews who was a giant compared to the other kids, and did far more than his share or the hitups. He also offloaded with up to four defenders on him at times too. Don't know his name.

The starting props in Ball were Ben Bradley and a stocky Islander kid - both powerful, but i'd say both under 6 feet, with Bradley only 5'9" i reckon.

Other props in Ball should be Felise Tufauuo

and Jeremy Maa played prop last year a fair bit (both pics from last year - 6'5" Jeremy seen here with Shay Padburg)

Jeremy and the guy i think is Pat Mata'utia (but looking at this pic, Pat couldn't possibly be that big - must be someone else).

thats channel the 2nd oldest not pat

and i herd that benny bradley has missed out:S
Very impressive that Chanel is that big.
I thought he was the runt of the litter and Pat was already bigger than him two years ago.
Sounds like Pete might end up the smallest - which is good for us.

Who is the better Mata'utia between Pat and Chanel? Pat has more rep experience though but is a year younger as I understand it.

The Knights will have an overload of quality hookers and halves which is definitely a good thing to have. Shay Padberg, Tyler Sullivan and William Smith will be jostling for the halves position whilst Alai Taufaao, Chris Knight and Adam Clydesdale will be fighting for the hooker role. There seems to be a lot of depth in this Knights squad. Dale Clacherty and Chad Redman will be very dominant in SG Ball this year IMO. They will be a class above.

As you can see in this pic from 2008, they were near identical at that time (Chanel nearest camera).
I've always thought Pat is bigger and younger, so must be better, but time will tell.

Tye was the dominant front rower in Saturdays trial for Newcastle.
I know Tye is a Macquarie junior, and i remember a prop named Alchin playing for Macquarie 15 or 20 years ago who was the son of Wests Magpies legend 'Mad Mick' Alchin - so i've always wondered if Tye is a grandson of 'Mad Mick'.

Tye Alchin will be very important to the Knights chances for this year. He is a very good player and they will rely on a lot of his work in the middle of the park to create opportunities out wide. Kori Barber will also be a key player. At the Roosters, we've got a kid who is an absolute weapon and has been in the NRL squad for the past two seasons and he is only 17 at the moment. His name - Boyd Cordner. He is probably the best player in his age group, but I've always rated Kori Barber to be just as good, if not better. But he just doesn't get the wraps that he deserves. Luckily for Cordner, Peter O'Sullivan recruited him straight into the NRL squad which instantly gave him a big name and I think Kori Barber has the same potential. He will play NRL one day IMO.

The roosters have never been good with juniors lol they push kids up too early trying to get the next sonny bill or jarrad hayne, the whole club is sh*t, and the way theyve treated the great arthur beatson makes me sik

anyway i believe tye alchin and kori barber are the two big kids to make an impact this year along with chad redman if he makes his way back down the junior ladder

Boyd was tackling Jared Hargreaves when he did his shoulder.

Two of the best young prospects in the NRL.
