This place is amazing with the way it deals with issues.
People said Dugan was a liability get rid of him & give the job to Dufty.
So Dufty has his 1st full season and if true in analysis gets a B or B-.
The team gets a gig in the semis and if not for coaching brain snaps, SOO and fatigue the team could have gone further and its attacking potency looked much better than the 2 previous years.
In respect of high quality FB's on the market there are none but because Hayne is potentially available all the knives instantly come out for Dufty and people want to rissole him despite Hayne doing squiddly dot since returning to NRL.
FMD he played in the halves for Fiji what is he a winger, a centre, a FB, a 5/8, a rugby 7's player, an NFL rookie, a Titan, an Eel and all that in 4 years surely you cant be serious about this guy.
Now, Dufty has faults that need to be addressed otherwise he will not be in 1st grade for long nor will me make it as a premiership threat.
That is obvious to even the most ardent Dufty fans however if the anti Dufty brigade think Hayne is the answer then prove your case without bringing Dufty into the equation.
Other than the hope of recapturing past glories (sound a bit like the Nighty scenario) he will at times do things that are good but for the greater part of the season he will be ordinary, reason, his time at being the best week in week out has been and gone.
If Dufty is not the answer look within or get a FB that is currently in the top 4 - 6 in that position and that is definitely not Hayne.
Let Dufty play a full season behind a team that doesn't fade out and lose its way and then make comment.
Stop looking for an excuse to buy a washed up player in the hope he will come good under one of the worst coaching regimes in the entire competition.

Would hope that L plate & his brain trust work on dufty playing a bit more direct next season.

I agree with you but it is falling on deaf ears Possm. Mann got screwed around left, right and centre from the get go. Forum members on here say that we give the small bloke a chance. Let's give him another chance. Hmm. Best outcome would be if he astounds us with brilliant defence,
best outcome drag would be if you astound us with your humility darling .

Dufty is still learning his role and I'm sure he will be a better player next season.
It will boil down to what his manager thinks he is worth and what Saints see what he is worth.
I think the scoop by the Mole is just paper talk so we just need to wait and see how the off season player movement goes

You're trying to tie acknowledging Duftys shortcomings with wanting Hayne. They are completely separate issues. I wanted a first grade quality fullback from before last season started and it has nothing to do with getting hayne. The fullback I have said we needed on a number of occasions was RTS and before you point out he is not available, I have never said he was.

My problem with Dufty is we have built a spine and then gambled on the fullback. It is not enough for our fullback just to have speed, though this is one of the things they should have. They need to be physical, able to defend, read the game in attack and defence and work their butt off.

Jeezuz, do you really realise how dumb you are? Unlike you, I can't be bothered getting on this site every day. I have a feeling your IQ is probably hovering around the 70 mark. That's OK because I'm sure your Mum is so proud of you. Cheers

If this is not just loo paper talk then the Dragons will have an awful lot to answer for . As said by others the young bloke shall improve in his 2 nd season - undoubtedly shall . Our back line will be explosive next season with the addition of Pearson , the Fijian lad , Pierre and Duffy and they wish to destroy it before a ball is kicked in the new year ?

Surely they would not throw Duffy to the wolves so as to sign Hayne , there must be more to it then what we are hearing. This is one player that will come back to haunt us for years on end if ever he plays in another teams colours .
