A couple of seasons back the hot topic on this forum was we need speed! We need someone that can run the length of the field to score a try!
Then Dufty comes along and starts scoring tries with blistering speed. Length of the field tries, unstoppable.
Now the forum is saying we need a more complete fullback. A big bloke that can tackle on his own line and run the ball out of our end.
FFS, Dufty is a lightning rod. He is a speedster with footwork, passing skills and he is a footballer.
He isn't the best fullback in the comp at the moment but he is ours and he's a gem.
I'd be gutted if he left our club, Im stoked we have a little rocket at the back who can score tries from anywhere.

Haven't we always needed a more complete fullback? We haven't really had one since Boyd.

I didn't consider Boyd to be the complete fullback either. He was pretty safe and dependable without being brilliant and he chimed into the backline (mainly on the left side) playing the extra 5/8 role. He never scored enough tries or made enough breaks for my liking. As I have said many time previously. I think Boyd is one of the most overrated players in the game.

Boyd had few weaknesses to his game. He lacked the individual brilliance but could do most things well. He didn't score many tries or breaks but set up many and made a lot of ground anyway. He always seemed to have a knack of running the right line and making the right pass. We never really had to worry about him in defence.

Funny how people in a Jarryd Hayne thread try to justify his worth by bagging out Dufty.
Let's just keep this subject firmly focussed on Hayne and his ability or shortcomings.
The bloke is an air head, has far too many thought bubbles about what he wants from life, lazy, narcissistic and has done SFA since his return to the NRL.
All this talk about what he used to do is exactly that talk about deeds from a bygone time.
How many defining games has he had since he came back?
How did he improve the stocks of Titans & Eels?
How did he really go in SOO?
Is he anywhere near making it back to SOO or the test arena?
Judge Hayne on what Hayne now brings and be honest in your assessment and not gibbering on about how good he was at his peak before he went off on his tangents.

2009 was his peak - he has gone off chasing dreams and trophies and for me is just not focused or committed to whatever club he signs up to. Hayne is the past need to look to the future - give Dufty a chance.

Don't upset the apple cart Watatank. A few on this forum think Dufty is the full package. Pity the fools.
Fools....Really?...
You've worked out why I'm perfectly happy? If ignorance is bliss, you surely wear that crown big guy.

Duffy is one of the best young players in the comp and he is a Dragon.

I remember Tedesco's early years with the Tigers, he had a few injury's and took time to adapt into first grade and look at him know.

The club has to be patient with Duffy, we have two rep half's and McIinnes who was knocking on the door for NSW so, if all goes well with Duffy's progression our spine is sorted.

The other thing to remember is that Dufty is only 22 and has just over one season of FG under his belt. It takes time to develop. I still think Dufty is our best fullback going forward. Some people are too impatient and are expecting the finished product overnight.

Who thinks Dufty is the complete package? Back up your argument for once. Tell me one poster that has said Dufty is the complete package.

He's not. Over the next few years he may get their however, in my opinion he will always be a defence liability. Right now we need a first grade fullback that has good all-round skills.

FFS Crush. No need to back up my argument if you bothered to read what I stated. I'll re-iterate for you slowly. Dufty is not the full package. Move on.

Absolutely nailed it here DQ.

Those in the know agree.

If there's one game that highlights this, look at Reimis Smith schooling him at Kogarah. Not only faster, but much bigger and stronger

I agree with you but it is falling on deaf ears Possm. Mann got screwed around left, right and centre from the get go. Forum members on here say that we give the small bloke a chance. Let's give him another chance. Hmm. Best outcome would be if he astounds us with brilliant defence,
