Just what is that crafty old fox Mary up to? For all we know he's told Widdop, Norman, Dufty and some bloke from the Dapto Canaries reserves they'll all be fullback this year.

“ Crafty old fox “ - I like it . Let’s hope that he doesn’t confuse Widdop with Norman or Duffy with the ball boy in the pressure cooker atmosphere of the game - lord help us all if he does .
Mary has been known to forget he's got a 4th player on the bench so anything's possible.

As I have suggested for some time , I believe that he shall be off the bench - you simply cannot waste his speed , it is undoubtedly the Dragons big X factor that will cut tiring defenses to pieces in the latter part of each halve .

Who will be left off the bench?
K Sims
Lawrie
Leilua
Robson

I think the idea would be Dufty on at fullback , Widdop back into the Halves and Hunt to Hooker to give Mciness a break .

McInnes is a tackling machine and Hunt is not a solid defender. Are you suggesting that Hunt takes on McInnes's defensive work?

Do we leave Robson right out of the 17 and risk losing him to another Club?

Robson

I believe it shall be Lawrie possum - undoubtedly a bright future ahead of him , however the maestro will go for experience over potential (? )

Just pulling your chain OD ;). You can call me darling. I can't be the only person on this forum concerned about the 1-5 positions. We have unknown wingers, predictable centres, and a yet to be stated FB. What's to worry about?
No you are not alone. With Lomax..should be 1 centre I was more concerned about No's 4 & 5 as I was last year. Apart from Periera new recruits dont do it for me yet for the other wing position. Lafai...ehh..nah..still not sold.
Had we signed R Jennings in lieu of Tigers with Periera on the other wing I'd have felt better.
We still have 1 spot to fill in our Top 30..maybe 2...so who knows who they have got in mind.

Well done Dragons and Matt for the signing.
I feel he's a keeper and should be in the 17 somewhere, to start the season ??
He has some outstanding attributes.
Will be interesting to see if he has made improvements to his overall game.

In reality, he may end up seeing more of ISP than NRL in 2019.
But he is certainly worth the investment - $$ and time.
Go Matt.

Aitken & Lafai to ISP or released
(This is where the changes have to be made - if we take a general consensus on this forum?)

1 Dufty
2/5 Field,Pearson (maybe Aitken to soothe Waterboy)
3/4 Lomax,Norman
6/7 Widdop,Hunt

Has to be a better backline than the one we’ll probably get served up RD 1?

Forwards/Bench pick themselves more or less
Robson should be in 17

I have read that Reece Robson is training at Hooker and that they are considering moving McInnes to Lock after 20 minutes. I immediately slotted Reece Robson into my SuperCoach team. I had better keep on eye trial form!!

Right now I have got Bailey and Mann as my 2 hookers in Supercoach. If Josh Reynolds was to get the 5/8 spot at Wests, I would have to consider trying to fit him in there as one hooker.

You would be more in the know than me tbh. I can't gauge much from the new arrivals, only what is put online. I did like Periera's performances last season though. Plenty on here dismissed him as only a cup player at the grand old age of 25. Regardless, we have a strong forward pack and a potentially deadly spine. My only concern is our outside backs.

Hoping Dufty doesnt start off the bench...the Canterbury experiment was a gross failure.
While I agree it was a failure, I'm not so sure it was simply down to the fact he was off the bench. I think that particular week there was a lot more at play, I recall Dufty had asked to be dropped from the team altogether prior to that match due to mental struggles and Mary convinced him to start in the bench instead. Something was rotten in the team that week

On a good week Dufty could be very dangerous injecting into the game against tiring packs.
