I'm definitely quite proud of this thread. I would have thought it would of died in the ass by now... but really, the club kept it alive through their decision a month or so ago.

There's a Facebook group now... still in its early stages with about 40 members, but that should only grow too!

got a link for that facebook group I've tried seraching for it in the past with no success

It is looking like Elliott had lowered the club as a destination for any coach at present. This was said when it looked like he was gone from potential coaches

Anderson i will take a year off then maybe get involved again. Not interested
Kearney want to stay at Melbourne to continue to learn. Not interested

Less than 2 months later the parra position comes open
Anderson has applied and is interested
Kearney has said he will talk after the world cup. But appears interested

Where does that leave us in my opinion we should sell the bridge over the nepean river if that what it takes to get a young fresh coach like kearney

I heard a rumour that Elliott does his prep work for each training session down on one knee in the shower. There was a movie made about it starring Russell Crowe....Romper Stromper.

my replacement for Elliott was Kearney and still my first choice but after seeing the PNG side tonight .I have to say Adriam Lam has done a great job.Considering the level of player they have they gave the poms a fright. He looks the goods and a good replacement for elliott

Penrith have historically always been unable to attract high quality players and coaches. It was formerly to do with the location (and it still does in a way), but over time, politics and performances on the field have become reasons too.

I am currently reading Men In Black, which is a way in a re-hash of Bound For Glory from what I've read so far (I'm up to the mid 70's), and it pretty much states all the rubbish that went on then - and really, nothing has changed since.

Correct i lived though half that sh#t and nothing has changed they still don't have a clue of how to run a club or manage a winning team.

the best buy is always a tough tag to give out

Peter kelly on of the toughest hardest footballers to wear our jersey
Chris mortimer brought a level of hardness to our club

But i rate marty lang as the best before he came there was no mongrell in the team.I still shake my head at the high shots he took.Only to get straight back up and run again

But in keeping with this thread we know who it is not

So just doing some math.
Penrith 07 Side = Wooden Spoon
Penrith 07 Side + Civ = 12th
Penrith 07 Side + Civ - Priddis, Puletua, Wesser, Rodney, Rooney = ....

Well I think Priddis was the best signing of my lifetime. I saw him as our most consistent performer prior to 08 season and I blame Elliott for a lot of things that happened this year.
Time will only tell the impact Civ can have, if he can pull us up the ladder and stick with us for another 2/3 years perhaps he'll be up there with the other guys.

Me too i like Martin Lang and what he did for us on the field, you could hit him with a brick and he would still get up and keep coming at you.

Other good buys that i saw over the years for Penrith who made an impact Mike Stephenson, Daryl Brohman, Peter Kelly, Chris Mortimer, and Ryan Girdler from Illawarra.
