i have the opposite feel
The storm are going to be thinking this a easy one. There always hard games to play
penrith have really nothing to lose everyone thinks they will lose again games that penrith seem to do well in.I will be in my usual seat i the eastern grandstand more than likely with plenty of seats vacant beside me

The season has been an improvement on last season atleast and on the positive side we are now winning the games against the lower ranked sides. I'm delighted we put 52 on the dogs because I honestly would have picked a lesser margin. We haven't been able to upset the big guns due to lack of quality in the halves, defensive deficiencies and carrying several underperformers in the side, not to mention the same old penalties each week. Elliot cops it from pillar to post on here alot of it may be justified but sometimes I wish you'd cut him some slack, he's not responsible for all our shortcomings and also he has to work with what management provides. Elliot's only been here a couple of seasons, so I'm not convinced sacking Elliot will change things long term.... Probably keep him on in 09 and if things don't improve further then don't renew his contract.

Personally I wish we'd get a former great to coach us like Brandy or Girds. But they have no coaching experience and we've been down that path before with Royce Simmons.

Isn't it telling though. Last year we couldn't beat the struggling sides, but we always turned up against the big sides, and knocked a lot of them off, including one big big win against Manly towards the end of the season.
This year we haven't had that higher gear, and it probably is due to the halves issue.
I don't think this has been a wasted year, and perhaps we should have more patience with Elliott's 'grand plan'. Things have obviously improved despite the lack of halves over the past year. My main issue with Elliott is his relationship and handling of the players. Perhaps given time his gameplans would work at Penrith (personally I don't think they're suited to our talents) as they have at Melbourne, but he just doesn't bother working on relationships or developing raw players in that sense.
In that regard I think we need a John Lang type, a people person, who can work with all our youngsters, and have a tactical mastermind like Neil Henry or Flanagan running the plays. I think Lang is exactly the mold of coach we require, he just ran out of ideas for us and we need a fresh start.

I hope Penrith get out there and put atleast 18 points on them.
Give them a bit of a scare early and show them we mean business.
But Melbournes defence is just too hard to get past.
But i think we are a huge chance against Manly after their loss against the bunnies.

The other results haven't been kind to us. As if winning 2 from the last 3 isn't hard enough, we may have to win 3 of the last 3 to make the 8 thanks to Warriors and Dragons both winning. If the Tigers win tonight, then they also leapfrog us. I wanted this team to make the 8 even if they get knocked out straight away because it would be a big improvement on last season, but we're probably going to finish about 12th at this rate, meh. Same as 2006 in Lang's last season. Come on boys lift for the big teams!

Easy lads
How about we direct this anger towards Elliott?
After all that is the purpose of this thread, and I'm quite disappointed at the lull in it atm...

Pantha Boy has been sent to bed.

Anyway.....back to matt Elliott.........He will start with Priddis who will give away at least 3 penalities in the first 20 minute, during which time Storm will put 18 on us and it will be all downhill from there.
