The Matty Johns show is a Paul Hogan style of show so dont expect much footy people.

Regarding the Whiz, he is a crack up. Much better then Wendell and Warren Smith in my opinion

Because it wont get much of an audience in Primetime - simple as that. I find it intersting that everyone constantly bags TFS, but they do actually show and discuss quite a bit of league. I know there is a lot of other crap around it but it is still fairly decent viewing imo.

Nothing special for sure - but not a bad way to end the night on the couch.

I find Ryan Phelan very likeable on that show - he's settled in to the Rugby league side of thing well on Fox IMO.

Also Andy Raymond is a legend

I liked Matty when he was on the Sunday Footy Show and when he was giving sideline comments. I don't really mind his sense of humour, except for the homoerotic stuff. Fortunately it is on early, and he won't be able to dry root blokes legs etc. I'm hoping for the best, but not really expecting a to be impressed. It would be great for the game if the show is good, so here's hoping.

Wow, what a tough crowd!

I really enjoy the thursday footy show, it poos all over the afl one. Matty was a great laugh too. He has the ability to poke fun at himself and others with out the aggressive and self obsessed wank of Sam Newman.

I think all you mob on the East coast are a bit spoilt for choice.

With all the scrutiny of the players (and ex-players, i.e. Matty, etc) these days and the domination of the media and the $$, they need an opportunity to talk about the footy while having a laugh and not taking themselves so seriously!

At least give him a red hot go at it!

I am absolutely mistified why someone hasnt come up with the bright idea of providing a Footy Show dedicated to the footy (like the Sunday Footy Show) and not all that garbage they go on with. I personally find it about as entertaining as a toothache. More of the same garbage from Mat Johns is definately something we dont need.
If I wanted more of buffoons carrying on like absolute idiots Id listen to Ray Hadley and his Continuous Call Team.
Is it just me that finds all their rubbish intolerable?

I actually think Matt Johns is pretty talented. But that aside, I`ve watched about four episodes of the footy show in the whole time it`s been on (`cause I don`t think blokes dressing up as women is particularly funny, strangely enough.) I`m also not a red-neck, which seems to be their target audience.
It`d be great to have show like the Rex Mossop show or the Ron Casey show that dealt mostly with.....well.....Rugby League, and did at least have journalsts and semi-educated people on.

Like I said I was at the pilot on tuesday it wasn't good hopefully they do somthing to fix it cause there is a market thete but what they showed was very poor.
I went with a group and we all agreed that that the best part of the show was the band they were awesome.
