I like Mcculloch. 3rd best Hooker In the league barring injury behind Cook and Grant ... highly regarded in Brisbane and a tough but hard nose competitor. Better genuine Hooker than Mciness makes as many tackles and scores the odd try .. hopefully only a 2 year deal and remains injury free. Finally we sign some experience ..
Would rather have AM busting his arse all season than our former 2020 captain , signed else where in 2021 , and kicking stones all year because he cant wait to go.....Anyone else withe same frame of mind should be shown the door as well..
Cant wait to see some of our promising Juniors given a go this season
While obviously inexperienced , you cant beat the pride ,enthusiasm and exuberance they display in getting their opportunity of playing for the Club with the Big Red V

Who is this great lock we supposedly have? Rudolf? If so he’s not a great lock with the new rules. Besides he’s just a footballer and plays wherever. Otherwise don’t know who you could mean.

Brailey I agree could play origin and the club has been clear that’s his spot.
Easy done then, swap deal for Rudolf, let’s get it done.

I think Mcinnes will be a much better lock than Rudolf if he holds up to the battering week in week out.
That’s one good thing if he stays with us the year. Last year I winced often at the battering he was taking, worrying the move could shorten his career and would have preferred he work on his dummy half play but this year I can just enjoy watching him absolutely rip in.

First, i will say i'm not against signing him for 3yrs, it's just the structure that is a concern.
2021 with some subsidy from the Broncos and starting hooker is a fair thing.
2022/3, there would have to be a plan to bring in another hooker and have AMc as the back-up.
Also, it seems weird that a coach would sign a player on a contract longer than his.

Not sure of BB longevity in the game, he seems to have a few injuries and maybe Hook wont have him past this season.
Young Muhleison is a few years away, and I believe H. Lomax has been training there also.

So my concern lies in the mystery $$$ this contract is signed for.

If it was 650k as stated that is total madness.

Rudolf is too get an extension soon. So how about Woods instead?
Things can change very quickly in rugby league. McInnes is an 80 minute player so no doubt Rudolf will have to play prop which shuffles the whole deck a bit. I guess the Dragons will weigh up whether to sign Rudolf once we find out about JDB.

Like most people here I’m sceptical, however new coach and the proof will be in the pudding. Let’s see how he goes in his first few games then pass judgment. I will be hoping for success, I don’t want a sack Hook thread.

This.

Who hurt you crush?

You used to be one of the positive ones..

Was it Mary?
TBH I’m surprised at a lot of posters that used to be critical of everything now just accepting any decision that we make. I mean OT for example would call anyone over the age of 22 a journeyman. Now we sign a true journeyman and it’s “let’s just give Hook a chance”
Anyway, I take your point and will try to be more positive. I am excited about the season ahead.

Hopefully Macca can gel with the team coming in so late. I do feel we will get the best out of McInnes though if he plays lock. Because he’s probably going to be playing lock for the foreseeable future he will be pretty keen to learn the position and if his focus is purely on lock he will likely be highly motivated and will be able to just focus on one thing rather than chopping and changing all the time. On top of of that Hook will probably give him some bench time which I believe will give him some more impact.

Initially I thought it best he goes now but with the McCullough signing, McOuttis will be plugged in at lock where his effort level can clearly be measured against his output from last season.

It will be blatantly obvious if he is not having his usual crack.

He was at the top of the NRL season tackle count for the last 2 seasons so we should expect, barring injury, that he repeats that feat.

Nowhere to hide for him, not that I think he's a shirker anyway, too proud a bloke imo...

Not a true or accurate reflection of my thoughts at all Crush.
